Tractor Beam

Just picked up a new ship, but the tractor beam isn't working. Any ideas why?

Let me bet: Infinite tractor beam? That's a rare bug, restarting the game -usually- helps then.

Your id is your tractor beam. If you dont have an id, you wont have a tractor beam.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but FLHook prevents you from launching without an ID. The only ID that doesn't have a tractor beam with it, is the nomad ID.

Freelancer and Recruit IDs are sold on any station. You can buy them at the equipment dealer. Look for the little icon that looks like what I consider a sort of ghostly ship arrow with a square in it - I forget the name of the icon, sorry. But once you click on that, look to the right side of the screen and you ought to find the IDs.

How on earth (or even Planet Manhattan) do you get an ID?

Go to equipment dealer on any base, go to the same page, where Nanobots and Shield Batteries are sold, choose your ID carefully and read the ID Descriptions.

IDs must match with the ship and loadouts, if you failed to choose the correct ID, or have any more questions, feel free to PM me.
