Hello: My name is Hitomi Susubo I am the oldest of two daughter of who some know as MotokoSusu. this person is my mother. Until recent events I have never been concerned about my Mother as much as I am now. I know that most of the people here seem to be what people call salty and self absorbed and could care less of one person as long as every one has their little happy dances to themselves.
I do not know what wrongs my mother has done to any one person on this server. I cannot imagine her doing such a thing. It is not in her nature to do so . Yes she can come across mean at times and have a ill temper. which I guess some have seen.
Mother started Playing freelancer as a way to I guess interact with people. Her psychologist gave her a copy in 2004 and she started playing it she made some friends which lead to a few showing up at our doorstep unannounced. She was deployed in 2005 to Iraq to fly refueling mission in a KC-135 for heavy transport and combat support fueling mission. She had maybe in total 2 hours a sleep a day for the following year of deployment sleeping many time in the cabin in her left seat.
3 month into her deployment she was shot in the shoulder in a exchange of gunfire after a IED took out part of the convoy. That had changed her I think. She had killed two of the ambushers on a wild rage fit. Chasing them down a street with out thinking. The Military saw fit to award her medals. For all that she had done in service is she got some medals and a severe case of PTSD.
Before that she was deployed in the first Gulf War at that time she piloted a Recon aircraft taking battle assessment Photos while dodging ground fire. This was a time before she had adopted myself and my sister but my grand father and mother told me of these.
My mother is a kind and generous person and helps people when ever she can despite the less then kind words said of and to her in the public. She has always told to not let words dictate one action... but let the action dictate words. I do not expect anyone to under stand that all that matter is that I and my sister do.
After that last deployment she found that the server she so enjoyed playing had shut down and it was like she lost a part of her life at that time. So she decided to occupy her time with other endeavors. Then she found Discovery. It at the time seems something she would enjoy playing and she tried a faction idea and the community was less then receptive of that idea and it really had sadden her. So she fly around doing little odds and ends stay below the radar as she says.
Then she decided to carve a little of disco out for herself and my sisters so we could all play together with the addition of a good friend she has known in the military. I could say she was happy doing her little things in her free time and spending less time moping around the house, dealing with a number of maladies of joint pain from her total left leg being jammed into her hip that she got from crashing a F-16 in the Atlantic instead all over a town if she was to bail out, due to a unrecoverable hydraulic failure. To the left shoulder that she was shot in.
Sadly what has once gave her lots of enjoyment has now sent her ware at her. For one she does take things to heart. She at times let thing make her rage i guess for the lack of a better word. But when she read the message that was sent to her as a form of RP i guess it was the straw that broke the camels back and sent her to a place she has been trying to avoid for so many years and it saddens me. She was almost off her PTSD meds and that was going to be a break through with in out home but i think now she has gone backwards. This has saddened me and I hope I can piece her back together rover this. She has worked so hard in her free time to make something we could enjoy and it seems it well be a waste of time .
So thank you community. I do not care if you have negative comments it only show the level of ignorance you have. My Mother I will do any thing for even if mean running into =the fires of hell to save her.
Discovery is sometimes incredibly difficult to balance with life issues. Discovery can be a great situation to play with friends, but it can also become a drag when various people's definitions of fun start to clash and contrast. If someone has a few, particular characters, and they start to have difficulties with other players, it can become immensely frustrating if they feel they're being pigeon-holed into a certain kind of encounter, without any dynamism.
I'm no stranger to things going wrong within my own life, as are many people within this community (and any other community of practice - humans are humans). I'd suggest that your mother takes something of a gentle break to prevent the game from becoming overly stressful. Anybody who is causing antagonism for the fun of it will get bored eventually, and is certainly not attempting to be consciously malicious.

I genuinely like your mother and I thank her for her sacrifices to defend our country and help those abroad.
That aside - from what I see on the surface, she needs to step away for a moment and realize this: It is a game. I am not saying this to be mean, or harsh, I am simply trying to get her, if this is what I think it is - to realize that. If people are upset at her inRP, doesn't nessecarily mean they're mad at her ooRP. A perfect example of this is that I inRP (as my main characters) Hate Enma Loyola and the Core - But ooRP, I genuinely like Shiki and the guys in Core because they're decent guys and play good villains - something I admire.
What she needs to do is build a virtual partition between herself as a person, and herself as Motoko Susubo of ABH, inRP. Let her character hate the other characters, and deal with the hate of others, but let the real Motoko acknowledge: "Okay. This is just a game, they don't honestly hate me." Now of course, there are genuine exceptions to the part about inrp and OORP hate, but with someone like your mother, Hitomi, I don't see why people would hate her. She's a genuinely friendly person who I genuinely like, and I've enjoyed, even with the speech gap betwixt me and her - the encounters I've had with her.
ABH provides a approach that has only been taken in recent years to Zoner Society outside of IRG, which has kinda died down from what I have heard and seen - research. This is genuinely nice and I like hearing about all the things that happen with you guys.
That aside - as far as I am aware, No one here holds issues with your mother, and I honestly hope she can return to the game - no rush of course. Whenever she feels comfortable, she's more than welcome to come back.
Thank you Hanamura san but she can take ship to ship confrontation. She has no problem with that. She has been building the bases like model kits of gundams she take much pride in things she does but she also not take the threats well either. Grandfather say it the curse of High Birth and how she was raised. Yes she sometimes has problems with jokes and interpersonal interactions. many time she will smile and bow and not even understand what had been said. Main reason doctor gave her a copy of Freelancer. When she had come first to the US she was a lot more open. Grand father said though the family was still back in Japan because grandfather did not approve Mother walked out of arranged marriage. He said she closed a lot of the world after she was in a bar outside of a base she was stationed at and 2 men followed her out and well you can guess the rest. But she did manage to fight them off. But she was hurt pretty bad they punched her in head so many time it messed with her vision in the one eye and she was grounded for 6 month. Sooooo she has underlying trust issue.
The InRp confrontations are a matter of framing. Perhaps she could see them as a chance to show her RP chops, to use her characters in a way that demonstrate her potential. I too will soon be interacting with ABH's stations (I actually love the ring design), and whilst my characters will be grave and stern, I personally won't be. I'll try to create constructive RP occasions for both groups from the interaction.
Conflicts of interest in the Discovery universe are a means through which characters can shine, because it catalyses overlaps in individual story.

I'm going to be that guy and be the first to say that i'm not convinced that this story is legitimate. This isn't the first such case i've seen that taps into various sensitive issues to wrap the wrist of people who are made afraid to argue back.
You have been extremely forthcoming about very personal and sensitive issues to what is essentially the entire internet off the bat. A less reputable forum would tear you to shreds regardless as to whether your being truthful or not.
Now you can call me an insensitive asshole if you like, but there are literally dozens of alternate pathways to address these issues without posting a sob story on a games forum.
OH haha Mother knows stern I personally have not idea what grave is other then a place to bury someone in. things are pretty much in a holding pattern construction on the jump and cloak disrupter factories are halted. Mother would never tell anyone but she is very .... I have no word for it other then her English sucks when it comes to typing it and it torments her I guess. she is a very good orator her English is very good except the accent gets in the way at times and endures unneeded comment at work. So she tries to limit the RP in game. It takes her an hour of typing, spell checking, and proof reading to post anything in the forums because she was told by people in the community she need to work on that. People must have a hard time understanding what she was trying to convey. In the hopes to make people happy she been trying to improve.
Any way just keep a eye out I sure at some time she might roll the neph out and sit and continue to watch people fly by. Just don't know when though. But thank you for the advice I will try my best to convey it to her.
Mr Ash there is nothing to be achieved here. You are free to have what ever thought as any others. How I am free with my information is my own doing. You can take it on a grain of sand, burn it , line a bird cage with it. or just ignore it. She has had a less then simple life and god I can only wish to live half of it. The events in her life has had a great deal in how she presents herself in front of you and any one in the community and wishes not to misstep or anger someone. Some may see her as harsh or a moron and a dozen other descriptives. But until you have walked a mile in ones shoes you have no idea why someone is the way they are. Alternate pathway, sure I suppose, but this is the path I selected. Fault me on it. Which is fine with me. But mind you. It doesn't change how I would do it if I had chance to do it over
I think more than speculate over the veracity of someone's psychological problems or if there may be other psychological problems causing someone to make up a story, we should talk about the root of the problem.
The root of the problem here, as in countless previous cases, is this:
Someone poured huge amounts of work into something they've come to love dearly (in this this case bases, AGAIN) , and someone else sees it fit to destroy or threaten to destroy it unless the person who created it becomes... well.. their "IRP" bitch. And the person who is causing huge amount of distress doesn't even feel like he's doing something wrong, and probably even thinks he's doing the right thing or doing what is expected of him, because that's what discovery's game mechanics, rules, and large parts of the community lead him to believe.
We have on the one side players who spent months or years of creativity and work to build something, and who have everything they built here to lose at the whim of a small group of players.
And on the other side people who can destroy or blackmail those players, and have absolutely nothing to lose.
You can't change this by calling players to reason or banning them for 6 months over a pretext.
You have to change the game mechanics that make these situations arise constantly.
