So, I just read an article that says the anyone using any product from a certain company could be investigated and banned for what it deems offensive language. I though that it might me interesting to some of you out there that use those products or services about the new change they are taking.

Below is an excerpt from an article that sums it up for ya..... If you want to read the entire article, just copy and paste the first sentence into your favorite search engine and it should take you to it.

"Microsoft is cracking down on what people say while using their services online. According to a new services agreement written by the company, the tech giant is planning to ban accounts that use “offensive language” and will go through your private data to “investigate” users.

In a March 1 release, Microsoft is warning customers using Office, Xbox, Skype, and other products that the company is prohibiting offensive language and inappropriate content starting on May 1. “Don’t publicly display or use the Services to share inappropriate content or material (involving, for example, nudity, bestiality, pornography, offensive language, graphic violence, or criminal activity),” Microsoft warns in a portion of their new codes of conduct.

Microsoft also added that the company plans on “investigating” users who are accused of violating the new policy and will block content from being sent to other people. “When investigating alleged violations of these Terms, Microsoft reserves the right to review Your Content in order to resolve the issue,” the new policy states."

I have the feeling that Microsoft will fail at checking Skype the same way the social medias fail to do so. I would laugh if Microsoft breaks Skype trying to implement an algorithm scanning for stuff.

From my own experience, Facebook is pretty good at banning people for even mentioning the name of one Austrian painter.

Not that Microsoft can enjoy my business as it is - them being microsoft. They'll enjoy even less.

If this works even remotely as we all suspect - there's alternatives. Nothing much stopping us from switching and dropping new contact info here.

The problem is not that we can't swear any more. The problem is that our freedom is being limited, and our privacy nullified. They are starting to scan people's accounts on the pretext of "offensive language", and they are starting to delete them on the pretext of the same. What counts as offensive language now is actually pretty offensive, and few people use it. But what will they count as offensive language next year? Anti-American stance? Free thought?

I propose that everyone starts cyber with each other on Skype. They can't delete everyone! Oh wait. Is there even a need that I propose this?
