I was just thinking, it would be cool doing the storyline in a LIberty Cruiser or something like that :yahoo: But it is impossible, since you need a higher lvl. You made the Open Sp thing, but what about a Story SP mod, where all of the prices would be lowered so u can actually purchase it along the story line?
As for the Ioncross files you can locate them by opening Freelancer Mod Manager, right click Discovery 4.80, open mods folder then navigate to the Ioncross folder to find them. I'm not 100% sure they will work with the SP editor but they should.
Hope this helps!
BTW using the above prevents someone from having to make you a price/level change mod. Which is alot of work and could possibly be used online to cheat.
There is still a slight prob I was going through SP with a rouge GB for some reason and it is not that easy as missions such as docking at cali minor after willard will not work as if you try to dock at docking ring it says you are to big and if you try to dock at mooring fixture it says docking not allowed. (also does this docking at leeds first time you get there in mission)
And there is a planet later on that has no mooring fixture.
Ok that is all the probs I can think of with it right now but it is cool whilst you can do some of it. :)
Kiggles
I've been mildly miffed by one-shot weapons since their implementation, oh so long ago. I remember the days when fights were a matter of who could aim better, rather than who could aim a single shot. - Virus
There's a 'Ghost Docking Ring' mod that should solve that coming with FLMM
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
But Spidervlad mate why would you wanna do the storyline in a BS? I mean come on, there would be no challenge at all! Even the Nomads are the "weak" variety.
Speaking of which, remember the mission where you have to go into the Nomad base to retrieve the power generator.... would a BS even fit down the tunnel.
If you wanna *real* challenge......... try the story right thru in the Starflier
I've tried to do the SP as it should but I've run into a couple of problems:
You cannot afford the really cool ships by the time they come available,
which in turn makes the SP a lot more difficult then it was with the vanilla
version. (Damn, I even had to cheat a couple of times)
A solution for this would be to delay the level advancement so that a player
has to do some more freelancing (I know I can decline missions but it somehow
feels wrong).
When you get around to the mission where you have to tractor in
that alien power thingie you're stuck, because there are no ships available
with a tractor beam (or am I missing something?). Presto, game over.
I was trying the SP again just to get in the mood for the open SP and MP...

Speaking of starfliers, Remember the very first fight? Taking a poorly outfitted starflier against 5 anabis ships! U don't think about it at the time but nowhere else in the game would you ever think of trying some thing like that!
