It appears something has been lost in the recent days. Maybe next time, the better way for you to proceed would be to send individual communications, as seeing the Overwatch displayed first made us not read the latter part.

However, out of courtesy, I feel like you deserve some kind of answer, so I shall be brief. The Overwatch knew from the start of the fractured nature of our society. While I admit that seeing foreigners as anything but a coherent collective with a singular will might be difficult if there is a lack of acquainance with said collective, I personally am greatly off-put by the Overwatch's display of this kind of thinking. They know us since before the Nomad War. They know of our position right on the threshold of the deeper Nomad Worlds. There is no excuse for them behaving like the National Council is in any way responsible for the deeds of the outcroppings of Maltese society. We do not exercise governmental control over these families because we do not have the means to. You know best how a Maltese family feud unfolds, if you have heard of the Contari Lance and the 101st, that is.

Secondly, there is the issue of tone and manners. Golanski might be a military type, but I believe this man has a staff of advisors, and if any one of these advised him to talk to me as though I was one of his underlings, then I'm afraid this man should be immediately sent to their version of the Cardamine fields. No, I believe it is more likely that Golanski has never even consulted anyone else on how to approach the situation on his end. It is impulsive and unreliable, and there is frankly nothing that I loathe more than unreliable people.

The worst thing about all this is, frankly, that I was the one to propose this change in course to the National Council in the first place. Only with a marginal difference in votes did I manage to persuade the Council into agreeing to a truce with the Order in the first place, and those people now see their own view justified. I cannot fault them for thinking this way; I made the wrong decision here.

We are well aware that you never managed to get Malta under your control, nobody in the past decades even remotely managed to do this. Malta's society is too widespread and full of - nicely said - too different opinions and views on matters.
This is just a part of the issue. I am still correct when I state that the National Council is not supporting the Nomads, right?
We are wondering why there are no countermeasures in any way to things like this to be seen.
If you do not have the means to stop the, forgive my wording, corrupted parts of Malta's society to grow, why are you not approaching allies like us? We have learnt enough about the Nomads in the past ourselves. When the Sisterhood of Dreams fell apart, we've lost many Sisters as they were uncovered to be the Nomads servants.

The displayed Logos were easily identified to belong to the Oracles and the Commune. Both groups known to put Nomads above everything, including Malta. More so, the Commune is considered an enemy of us for various past crimes. But this does not matter all too much in regards of the recent developments.

There are too many times when Maltese vessels sided with the so-called Wilds or outright with Nomad vessels. You should know that this cannot continue. Such information spreading around could even ruin your status with foreigners.

All we ask of the National Council is to come up with a plan, unlike you think, Golanski can be talked to. In this case, the failure lies with him and the Maltese who went to shoot Order vessels together with Nomads.
We offer our help to solve this problematic situation for a greater good. Maltese blood is of high value, there is no need to spread it for the Nomads. And the National Council is not alone out there, there is still time to change things. Think about it, what if this war fired up people's belief into the Nomads? Will you be able to withstand the growing political pressure or will you fall apart? We do not need Malta in the hand of too powerful Nomad lovers again. But we naturally also cannot afford all too much bloodshed within Malta's society.
We should work on a plan, a general status update would be helping already.


Consider our words. There is no need to search blame exclusively among the Order.

Miss Amaia, I am not quite sure you understand what I mean.

Do we oppose the Nomads? Yes. Since we contacted the Order, we have taken measures to prevent infestation in the ranks of the National Council. Call me old-fashioned, but I do believe in the concept of national sovereignty. No outside influence can justifiably exert control over a foreign people, as they are neither as invested in the governed people's wellbeing nor are they able to understand the inborn needs of the people they proport to govern. If that influence is of alien origin, I am quite sure that point is easy to follow.

However, if you look at the map, Malta's forces are neither equipped nor positioned in order to actually fight the Nomads. With them being as close as they are to Malta, an open conflict would be disasterous and unsustainable. We do not know why they do not annihilate Malta. But we rationally also do not intend to find out the hard way. Our approach to the Order was made under the assumption that they well know this.

Now, we remain open to an apology from Golanski and a return of his to the negotiating table. As you said, a conflict with the Order behooves only the Nomads. However, given the insulting tone used by Golanski in his latest message to us, it would be political suicide on my end if I were to extend the olive branch.
