Something I've been working on this past year or so, unfortunately comicon this year snuck up on me, it's this weekend locally and there's pretty much no way I'll have the whole getup finished in time. Anyways, just might have it finished by halloween if i bust arse.

That looks awesome! Did you use EVA foam?

No, the plates are all made out of Sintra, which is basically extruded PVC sheeting. It's rigid and durable, with a hard surface, but can be molded with a heat gun

I took a closer look, my bad, I did not pay attention to the thickness. How are you going to connect them? I would probably use leather strips and rivets. But that works only when you are using metal, might be a bit of an overkill in this case (sun)
Edit: Although.... looking at the ankle thingy. But i supposed the pieces will be attached on top of some sort of clothing pieces
Really curious to see how it all fits together.

Been trying to solve that problem myself. Most people use velcro on the back of the sintra and the other side attached/sewn into the suit. I may actually just end up using 3m adhesive spray and gluing the plates directly onto the fabric, simply to save money and time. The backplate is going to be the biggest problem, since the jetpack attaches to it and is -heavy-

Hmm, maybe just mounting some straps like a normal backpack?
And then use some sort of strap that will go over your chest, for stability purpose.
Maybe use belts that have this type of locking mechanism for accessibility sake.

You could try to hide the belt that goes over your chest behing the chest plates and place those connectors on your body's left/right side. Although.... it might be uncomfortable if they are right under your armpits.

Yea, I had considered clasps like that, two at the shoulders and two at the ribs/sides, just need to find a local store that has them.
