Corrupt lawfuls and unlawfuls working together?

Basically its perfectly in rp for, lets say, a rogue and a navy person to work together. Not like, teammates, but say, an arrogant corsair gunboat comes and pirates in New York. In idea, both the rogues dont like their turf being used, both the navy dont like criminals and such. So they bring both down and depart, without engaging eachother. The rogue gets the loot, the navy get civillian or lawul pods. Fair enough.

But what about more complex...deals. A bribe, for example. Sure its oorp for, lets say, a navy outright ignoring a rogue pirating a trader. But what if the rogue offers a dirty deal? The government dont pay the navy and police enough, why not. Navy boy closes eyes and simply goes "What rogue?" and flies off.

Would make things in sense, the navy boys get paid to shoot rogues, the rogues get paid more or less, to kill navy and police. Work together on secret deals. They dont need any other "outsiders". for example, a rogue "could" give the location of an outcast to a navy guy for a prize. Rogues are the outcast allies, but they all know because without them, the rogues would be even more poor, thus the outcasts look down on them.

Would provide VERY MUCH if from an rp point of view. What do you think?

And before you say, "onoz, moar pew pew opportunitehs!" i am not for more pvp. We have enough. Just would provide more detailed rp development on the basic relationships of lawful vs unlawful, but in more depth.

I have been thinking on that for a while. But, I don't want to be a dirty navy officer. But, isn't a bad idea to get more real.

Anyway, looking at your signature, I can see where it comes.

Aye it could work, but that's all i can say really. It'd have to be a very big bribe, but i don't think any pirate would offer a 5-10mil bribe for some cargo that wouldnt total 50k.

In the past my LPI has asked traders for "a security deposit" and if they didn't pay I'd ignore their pleas for help when they get pirated on their way out of the system.

One thing to be worried about when RPing a corrupt lawfuls is ALL the traders will open their mouths and tell you how wrong you are and some will threaten you with sanctions because you aren't supposed to do unlawful things.

anything like a lawful being corrupt or an unlawful being a turncoat would require a special RP character request for sure or you run risk of being sanctioned

Why a special request if any police/navy is more or less corrupt.

and it IS in rp.

Npcs talk about it "Even more corrupt than we are"

also, if you dont want traders to meep at you in system, /l helps a lot, but i dont mean, in this case, youre working together to bring down a bigger threat

I mean, is lawful unlawful cooporation for their own future

"oya, ya can destroy my ship, get the bounty and ya split it with me. Not risk getting killed and a new ship costs less to buy anyway"
