Some of the trade lane routes in Rheinland make no sense, and don't help contribute to actual trade there. Perhaps we could find ways to change this?
Examples:
1. Inactive Jump Gate lanes in Sttutgart and Hamburg. Leads nowhere, serves no use in their current spot.
2. Dresden Gate/Lanes in New Berlin. While I understand that RM didn't expect a full Dresden takeover, keeping those lanes there only helps the Hessians at this point.
3. Way too many lanes in Hamburg on just one route. It takes a while to cross Hamburg because of this.
I was thinking that the lanes could be moved to more useful spots. Here are some of the solutions I've made, which include a few possible spots for the lanes:
1. Move the inactive gates/lanes to connect Zurich and Cologne. This could help massively with trying to make Gallia a better place for trade, as well as giving RM and UN more reason to fight in Zurich.
2. Move the Dresden Gate/Lanes to connect Omega-7 and Omega-2. Omega-2 has great potential where it's at, except that it's still rather out of the way for miners. If a Jump Gate is moved there, with a trade lane connecting it to Freistdat, more people would come to the system in the long run.
3. Re-arrange the trade lanes in Hamburg to just connect the Jump Gates and the planet. Alster and Westfalen can be moved to orbit Hamburg, to help protect Alster and the planet from Unioners, while also making the lanes better targets for them.
Any more solutions you can think of? Any criticisms of mine? Make sure to share your thoughts, if you want the rest of us to know.
Generally when you see an inactive jump gate, it's slated to be activated in a later patch.
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.

That connection I mentioned, Zurich-Cologne, needs Jump Gates to connect, if the trade route is going to be more viable than simply going through Kusari.
InRP, Ageira no longer makes the Rheinland gates, so they'd have to move the lanes they have if they want new routes open, unless they want to pay EFL for even more work than the Sigma-15 corridor.
The gates would be activated in my solution, just with each other and in a different location. It's been done before, with the Pennsylvania Gate, and the Sigma-59 Gate.
1. ooRP: Inactive Jump Gates tell a story.
inRP: Disassembling them would be costly with almost no benefit to government. They also might be used in future projects
2. ooRP: Moving is unnatural and disrupts the flow of story progression due to retcon that takes place.
inRP: If government needs, they can order new Jump Gates and Trade Lanes.
3. It's all fine and modifying vanilla system just because it is less comfortable to traverse than most others seems rather small reason.
As to your comment that Ageira doesn't make Jump Gates for Rheinland, that might be true for the time being. It's actually the same for many houses where new systems are not added and thus expansion not required. However, we have Bretonia with Gran Canaria annexation, we have Kusari interested in expanding into Sigma-21. You can never know what happens in Rheinland that would require Ageira's services.
As Snake pointed, the inactive gates/lanes are there for a reason, usually historic one.
Ageira and EFL atm compete for offering services to Rheinland, which is good, both might be prestative to ensure the market for themselves.
Dresden lanes help Hessians? Prolly, but keep in mind that to deactivate em Ageira would need get crew there, and they would need stay there for quite some time. If that was possible, Rheinland would have had no reason to withdraw from Dresden, the current RP (as far i know?) states that Dresden isnt economically viable anymore, so Reinland spending resources to keep presence there againt the presence of both Corsairs and Hessians would be a strategical error.
Best let em duke out at each other and just deactivate Dresden-New Berlin Jump Gate .

I think it would be more likely for Rheinland to disassemble them so that they can learn how said lanes and gates function leading to Rheinland being able to build their own versions later on.

Instead of simply moving them around.
This has already been done before, for only one connection to Thuringia. A lot of time and cash was spent in the RP. We even made our own prototype gate and lane models. In the end it failed because of ooRP disputes.
