Its been a rough first day as Captain of the L.N.S. Vermont the Gallic incursion in California and the Rogue destroyer that was caught in Pennsylvania have kept me occupied. I do have a visual recording of the poor unfortunate Scylla that decided it was okay to challenge my Overlord head on in open combat.

The Lane Hackers and the Rogues have tried to assault Manhattan and they realized real quick the defense grid is impenetrable. However I and those who accompanied me where honorable and met them outside the zone where they all perished save for one. Mildred Wolfe, her skills are incredible and the Hunter who was fighting her knew he was out matched and retreated towards the protection of the Vermont.

After countless weeks of testing it has finally became available to test out the function of four new Primary turrets for the Vermont code named "Dual Gatling Lasers". This specific style of weaponry is designed to focus on pinpoint accuracy against smaller snub craft and Gunboat vessels. With the recent tick in unlawful activity in the region this will prove useful as a test bed for future projects on the Vermont to combat these forces in these hard times.

Transfer to the 5th Fleet was harder then I expected. There are a whole new set of rules to go by and I am my decisions are being watched at every second. 5th Fleet personnel has arrived on the Vermont and has begun aiding me in instilling a new mindset on my crew. Various S.O.P.s are being gone over and combat techniques are being taught to my gunners. Everywhere I look is training, training and oh look at that more training. One would think my crew is up to speed considering we fought on the front lines in the Gallic War but there is always something you can learn. A lot is being expected of me and I can say I think I see a few white hairs already. Regardless I will push through the training train and get to work.

We have been stationed at the Hudson Jump Gate, Hudson System due to the imperial coup that is going on in Rheinland. Reports came in on Imperial ships attacking Liberty Corporaions and brass does not want Imperials anywhere near our border. So that is what we will do. We have been inspecting transports coming to and from Rheinland to ensure no contraband is coming through as well.

There has been a heavy Police presence within the Colorado system and I have not heard anything down the grape vine from Command about such a presence of Sunbucks addicts. I did happen to come across the LPI-BW-Excelsus, a Carrier made by the 5th Fleet for Police work. The radio operator seemed a but upset and didn't really hide it well. This was the day before the increased presence. It could be a coincidence but I don't really believe in those. My intuition is telling me there is more to this tale, I suppose its only a matter of time before the story unfolds.

With all that has been happening over the course of the last few months im not suprised I have not been able to properly sit down and make a log. I really do need to set time aside to do these as it is important, should I need to revisit an issue of the past a Captains Log is a great tool.

We are sitting in Norfolk while the Vermont gets the Hyperspace Matrix installed. I have let the crew go on a two day pass to help increase moral. If you work your men hard 24/7 productivity can go out the window. I need everyone at the top of their game. We will head back to Omicron Nu and see if we can figure out more on this Installation that was firing on our ship.

Early yesterday I received a transmission pinging all Liberty Forces Looking into this I see that a Base in Pennsylvania is under siege by a local thug organization flying rogue colors. Not surprising given the state of Pennsylvania these days, I thought the Zoners were supposed to be this force to be reckoned with and they have Rogues pilfering the area, so as usual Liberty Navy shows up and my time there, I did not see any rouge activity. I did however get to see Admiral Cleveland again which was surprising to say the least. I didn't think she would even remember who I was given my extended leave of absence. Sometimes people need to take a step back and recharge and that's what I did.

Anyways lots of things are changing, The Monument Class Battleship Vermont being melted down and parts used to make an Akhetaten. This has been a long project coming and I have yet to fully document the process. I think I shall get started on that now. Seeing as the Reserve Fleet is going to want that report any day now. It was not cheap thats for sure. im glad Fleet Admiral Kemp-Smith was able to approve our usage of a dry dock so we could get that going. Anyways more on that later, I got to see what all the fuss is about in the Chow Hall. Something about Taco Tuesdays not going as planned.
