Server Status

Okay, listen up.

Sometime around the 2nd of October, I will be moving the Discovery Server from it's current location (hosting on my server) to a dedicated host with APlus.net. This means major benefits for the discovery community:

1TB of Data transfer per month. We could quite possibly host our own download system on that server.

160BG SATA Drive - Plenty of room, as the current server has a 20G and we're barely using 4GB of it right now.

1GB RAM - I have 1GB in the server, but I can no longer host it due to cable modem bandiwth being droped from Business lease to regular cable modem.

and last but not least

Fiber line access. That box will be hosted by a provider that has access (direct access) to the internet back bone. That meaans that thruput is more than 30GB/s.

I don't know the time table for all this to happen, but I do konw that the server will go down on the 2nd, and will remain offline until we make the move. I ask that everyone be patient during this move.

Igiss, Korrd, Angel I will PM you the information as soon as i get the server set up.

Also, for everyone. The server will host a website for us to maintain our online stats. I don't know how i'm gonna set it up, but i'll keep everyone appraised of what we do.

Could you please tell us how long it will be down if you come across the information.

I cannot give you any ideas as to how long the downtime will be, as I have absolutely no idea.

as for FLSHell, don't bet on it. We had trouble just making it work last time, so I don't know if we can do it again.
