Radar :"Commander unknown beacon transmitting near by long range scanners cannot pin point it.....Sir"
Marin : "All ahead full navigator and sweep the area within a 10k radius all weapons arm and gunners ready yourselves"
Navigator : "Aye Aye....Sir"
Gunners : "Armed and ready....Sir"
Marin : "Proceed gentlemen with caution and make ready for anything this system can be dangerous"
* Darius thinking to himself*
I wonder how this will go there seems to be an installation either in trouble or under attack hopefully this situation does not unfold nasty.
My Zoner Q-ship has just undergone a full refit and is more powerful and more agile than before with larger armor and magnificent weapons aswell .
Maybe the perfect time to to test them out.
*Stops thinking and sits in the command chair*
The Q-ship Marauder continues to do its 10k sweep of the system and is curently in Tau-37 not a particularly dangerous area but it can be for certain individuals.
Radar : "Commander pirate train on scanners 2 k range"
Marin : " Comms put out a warning to that ship depart or we destroy him"
Comms :" Aye aye.....Sir"
Comms : " Pirate vessel this is the Zoner Q-ship Marauder state your intention in this system or we open fire"
Comms :******static************
Comms : "They are ignoring and jamming the our transmissions commander"
Marin : " Gunners fire across his starboard side and give him a warning"
Gunners : "Aye aye Sir....."
Gunners opened fire and the Pirate train soon high tailed it out of the system and fled.
Darius sat back down and continued to think to himself and the crew made progress trying to find the source of the signal.
The crew got restless and a bit agitated as there was no sign of the signal after nearly an hour sweeping the 10k radius that Darius had asked them to.
Radar : "Commander an installation has appeared on my screen that is badly shaken up....sir"
Marin : "Proceed with caution and radar keep long range scanners operational and inform of any activity"
Radar : "Aye aye sir"
Marauder proceeded to make its way cautiously to the installation and continued to get closer .....
As the ship got closer Darius said " My god its well and truly been damaged".
Proceeding to go closer they spotted writing on the side of the installation reading it "Corsica Outer Rim"
Marin : "I have been here before as a boy when my father used to smuggle cardamine"
Marauder crew continued to check the base for signs of activity before docking.
With no sign of any activity the Marauder quickly docked and the crew disembarked full armed with high power weapons in case of attack.
They proceeded to search the outer part of the base and it looked like an attack had been the source of the damage,continuing to search through the base it looked as if the last place to check was the place where the crew must have been.
The command centre was sealed tight but there were breaches to the outer walls where a final attack had taken place.
Proceeding with caution first the second in command proceeded to go through the first breach witnessing bodies and weapons lying on the floor "Blimey...Sir" he said,Darius could not believe his eyes when he saw the rest of the command centre it was totally wrecked "its a wonder this installation hasnt blown up"said Darius as there were warning lights and buzzers going off all over.
After a full hour the crew had secured the command centre and made life support safe and some systems were up and running again" Sir take a look at this "Comms chief had found a panel saying *CLASSIFIED*.
Darius proceeded to try and enter a password for the panel but no luck.
Marin : "Comms chief see what you can do to hack this panel please"
Comms chief :" Aye aye ...sir"
Time ticks by and the crew eventually get radar functioning after 2 hours,still no luck with the panel and the crew check supplies on board.
Marin : "Ok boys we need supplies from the Marauder to try and......"
Comms chief interrupts
"Done it sir"
Marin : " Excellent work my man"
The panel revealed passwords for all the docking bays main computer and every confidential part of the base including the armoury.
Darius and the crew were delighted and carried on their work to secure the facility as best they can.
Able to get the base stabilised was a great achievement and darius was wondering why this installation had been attacked and after some more inspection the base had traces of cardamine on board which would indicate an Outcast facility but no masks no nothing to suggest these people were outcasts and obviously the bodies were too far gone for them to verify this fact.
Marin : "Well boys it looks like we have ourselves a new home "
The crew proceeded for hours removing bodies and taking them to the base crematorium and making sure they were treated with respect and dignity,tidying up the base took all night and well into the afternoon of the next day.
Marin : "Good work boys we have lots to do .....comms are working ....radar is just functional.....and we have a place to sleep.
The crew and Darius were dead on their feet and decided to take leave and reflect the achievement they have made in securing their new home and hopefully it will be their home for a long time to come ......so until the next day .........farewell

IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
Darius awoke with a start "uuuughhhh"......."What the hell .....ahhhhhhh slept well i think........?"
Darius had been woken by the crew hard at work trying to get more systems back online he had slept well he realised it was 11.45 AM and he had really overslept and rushed to get a shower and straight to the control room as he approached the control room the doors opened verifying the door detectors were finally working......
Marin : "Wow boys your'e all hard at work i see"
Comms chief : "Aye aye we are that sir...."
Marin : " So boys what state is the station actually in then"
Comms chief : "Well sir Radar operator Logan is try........"
Comms chief was rudely interupted by a loud claxon and alarm bells ringing all control room doors sealed shut with a *SLAM*.
The crew were now trapped in the control room.
Marin : "Jeeeeeze Logan what the hell just happened".
Logan : " I am not sure commander but half the circuit boards under the main control panel have been fried by a short circuit by the looks and the station has gone on lock down reacting to a breach"
Marin : " My god boys we seem to be trapped now,Chief can we see if we can salvage anything to bring something online"
Comms chief : "Aye ...sir we can only try"
Darius sat in the command chair and started to think again *this new home that i hoped for is maybe just not going to be as i hoped*
As Darius sat the crew prodeeded to try and open the control room doors manually which did not seem to be doing much good.
Eventually all the alarms stopped but the red light were giving Darius a headache and making him feel sick ....
Darius reached in his pocket to pop a pill and proceeded to sit eyes shut in the command chair.
After a few minutes the crew found a way possibly to fix the problem.
Comms chief :" Sir.........sir......."
Marin : "Oh....oh ..yes chief"
Comms chief : "sorry ...sir thought you were awake ........ Ok the main panel is fried so we have established the controls for the docking bay can be re routed to the main panel and we can get power back to normal ....... but there is one problem...
Marin : " what's that chief"
Comms chief:" Once we get things running and the doors open we will have to strip circuit boards form the Marauder ....."
*Darius rudely interupted the chief*
Marin : " WHAT ..... youre going to strip the ship ive just had refitted...."
Comms chief : " Sir......If...........if there was another way i would do it ......but we will need to do this to get the station stable ....the life support is starting to fluctuate in and out of functioning properly and we dont have enough power to relaunch the Marauder anyway "
Marin : "My god its worse than i thought.......Ok chief do we have power to comms on board the base to contact Freeport 10.........."
Comms chief : "we do have comms sir and we will need new supplies from Freeport 10 ....but for now i think we should continue to secure the base with our contingency plan and strip the marauder then get her refitted by Freeport 10 ......they should be able to tow her there for it"
Marin : "ok chief make the arrangements to strip the Marauder and get this station operational as best you can "
Comms chief : "Aye...sir .....right boys lets get cracking"
All crew : "Aye aye chief"
Darius sat in the command chair and *SIGHED* he could not believe the luck they were having seeing as he had his mind set on taking over the installation seeing as the crew who were here and possibly the Commander of the station had all been killed.
So Darius contemplated the situation and sat thinking for a while and made himself aware that stripping the Marauder to save the crew and also his life and bring the station back online was the best thing to do.
In the meantime all seems well and the crew are making good progress stripping the Marauder and bringing panel after panel into the control room and one at a time reconnecting the most essential controls.
After about 4 hours of hard work the crew announced.
Comms chief : "Sir ..... We now have full scanner capability......full communication array functioning......all base doors are stabilised properly and the crew can move freely"
Marin : " Ok ....Chief ....And what state is the Marauder in"
Comms chief : " its bad sir we dont have ...engines...comms.....life support ......or lights"
Marin : "Just ....great.......thanks chief"
Darius sat back down and the crew carried on stabilising the base as he sat he contemplated the idea of asking Freeport 10 for help towing the Marauder back for repairs .......but obviously that is the last thing to be done until the base is fully secure and operational.
Marin : "Boys .....youv'e worked well today and deserved a well earned drink get stocks of Rhien beer from the Marauder and lets chill till tomorrow and continue with repairs"
STRANGE SITING AND INVESTIGATION (CONTINUED)......DAY THREE
IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
Darius and the crew wake early on day 3 and all sat in the Restaurant and had a marvellous breakfast.
Marin : “Right boys let’s get cracking again with repairs”
Crew : “aye aye sir”
The crew set to it straight away trying to complete the Base repairs.
More circuit panels were needed from the Marauder to complete the repairs and keep the station stabilised.
Marin : “Ok boys can we continue to strip the Marauder and get this mess sorted”
Crew : “aye aye sir...”
More panels were swiftly taken from the Marauder to the control room and the comms chief started to lock down the panels which were working properly and functioning.
After 4 hours solid completing the panels the control room was tidied up and made presentable.
Marin : “Good job boys,now we need to start the clean up around the rest of the facility”
Crew : “aye aye sir.....”
Darius fell into the command chair and *sighed* thinking again that the last 2 days have been well worth the effort and the boys have done a good job securing the base.
Things were falling into place slowly but steady so it looked as if Darius and the crew were getting somewhere finally.
Small jobs of tidying the food store were completed and also cleaning the filters for the life support.
As the crew worked on Darius boarded the Marauder to assess the damage to his pride and joy and once he walked on board his facial expression sank...... the Marauder was a total tip with wires hanging everywhere and lights flickering.
Power to the whole ship was down and the last of the ships oxygen supply from the life support was nearly deminished So Darius proceeded to lock the ship down and leave her until something could be done to sort out the repairs.
Marin : “Right boys lets call it a day it is now 1800 hrs and we have Worked solidly all day again and we deserve some more Rhein beer”
The crew cracked open the beer and had a good night celebrating their good work over the last few days.
Crew got smashed drunk along with Darius and finally retired to their quarters at 03.17 hrs
STRANGE SITING AND INVESTIGATION (CONTINUED)......DAY FIVE
IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
After a day of rest Darius and the crew felt refreshed and ready to tackle a new day and new challenges in getting the base even more functional and ready for the day that they can call Corsica Outer Rim home permanently for themselves.
Marin : "Ok boys we now need to get the corridors tidy all the outer store rooms the docking bay all of the guest rooms ......"
crew :" Aye aye sir "
The crew spent a good 5 hours solid making sure the rest of the base was tidy and clean .....
Darius pondered to himself about the Marauder and finally decided that it was time to contact someone about repairing his beloved ship once and for all..
Comms chief : "Sir we have secured alot of the base now but we still need more elecronics,cables,circuit boards,more stocks of food water and also we need the life support filters cleaning and maintained"
Marin : "Ok chief how do we go about doing that then"
Comms chief : " If we contact Freeport 11 we can contact the administration there and i am sure they will help us to tow the Marauder and also able to supply us with everything we need to repair the base further ....sir"
Marin : "Ok chief i will contact Freeport11 within the next 2 hours"
Darius and the crew had some dinner and some drinks and continued to do small jobs around the base to make sure everything is working and operational .....
Another good day all round and hopefully contacting the Freeport will help Darius repair the Marauder and also get needed supplies......
STRANGE SITING AND INVESTIGATION (CONTINUED)......DAY SEVEN
IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
After some time off for rest and getting strength back after all the hard work Darius and the crew were relaxing in the visitor lounge .
Darius had contacted Freeport 11 previously and they have offered to tow the Marauder to Freeport 10 and have a ship on standby to help with the tow.
Comms chief : “Commander .... sir....Me and the crew have managed to secure some life support aboard the Marauder and we are going to attempt to get some systems working using some of the backup control panels in the engineering room”
Marin : “Excellent chief let me know how you get on”
Comms chief : “Aye aye sir.....”
Seven days now and the base systems are fully working and operational the next step for Darius is to get his beloved ship to Freeport 11 as soon as possible to complete repairs and get her operational again.
The crew are working hard to try and at least get something working on the Marauder so maybe it can get to Freeport 11 under her own power.
As the day goes on Darius sits and contemplates the situation and how things have gone so far and realised that he and his crew are in a great situation .....owning a base and having the Marauder for protection......
STRANGE SITING AND INVESTIGATION (CONTINUED)......DAY SEVEN(Continued......)
IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
Darius thinks .........
well once again we need to make progress so lets see how the crew are doing.....
Marin : "comms chief status report please" said Darius as he boarded the Marauder..
Comms chief : "Aye...sir.......welllll.......we have managed to stabilise the life support to a level which means we can work on board the marauder for longer periods"
Marin : "ok chief so what about other systems"......
Comms chief : " Well again sir ...... we have managed to get partial radar so at present we can detect anything that comes within 4k of Corsica or the Marauder......also.....Forward guns are available and missile system is powering up in spurts and cutting out which we are working on right now"
Marin : " excellent chief youre making good progress so another 4 hours and we will finish our work for the day"
Comms chief : "Aye aye sir ..."
So the crew carried on their work and within an hour had the missile system functioning at a steady rate the radar system had been improved with an 11k radius available so Freeport 11 is visible on the Marauders scanner.
The crew were working flat out using every single bit of skill and judgement to try and get more power to the Marauder's systems.
More systems were brought online and a major break through had been achieved.......
Comms chief : "We have managed to get a small reaction from the main power core of the engine sir........but.......we will need to bring at least one circuit board from the control room back to the Marauder to try and secure a better connection to the system....."
Marin : "Comms chief ......DO IT.......if we can get power ...at least some power to the Marauder engines we may be able to limp the ship to Freeport 11 and if we get her there on her own steam it means that we dont need to wait for a tow"
Darius was excited and pleased he hadnt been this pleased in days.....
The crew made good progress and brought one circuit board from the control room to secure the system properly to test the engine out.
After one hour of fixing and welding and securing the circuit board.........
Comms chief : "Sir......we have secured the circuit board and we are ready to test the engine for a few minutes"
Marin : "Ok chief lets get set for the test"
The Comms chief stood next to the panel nervous but confident that it would work.
Putting his hand on the display he pressed the activate button to power the core to the engine and the engine began to charge up and get to full strength.
Flicking the start switch the engine was activated .....
After 5 minutes running a diagnostic test the verdict was relayed to Darius.....................................
Comms chief: "Sir the test has been complete and our findings are that we should be able to limp to Freeport 11 and hopefully get our repairs done......"
Marin : "Boys you have made me proud today so i will contact freeport 11 administration again and inform them we will limp the ship there under our own power and ask if they can have a ship on standby if we need them...."
Darius was over the moon with the boys and they celebrated with a few beers long into the night before retiring to bed ............
STRANGE SITING AND INVESTIGATION (CONTINUED)......DAY EIGHT
IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
Day eight of their adventure after docking at Corsica Outer Rim and making their discovery of an abandoned base and Darius was pleased as punch ......
The base was fully repaired and functioning now and all that was needed now was to limp the Marauder to Freeport 11 and conduct repairs and also get supplies while there.
Also Darius was pondering about more supplies needed to upgrade a few facilities on board .......make more storage space and generally improve the base.....
The Marauder engines had been tested early this morning by the crew and had passed another test this time ten minutes which means everything is going according to plan and the ship should be ready in time for the journey to Freeport 11.
Food supplies should last until sunday but more are needed ......The bier supply has dwindled and whiskey has totally ran out so no partys for a couple of days......
Darius made a quick inspection of the base and made sure the crew were on their toes looking after everything.....
Marin : "good work boys ....the next thing we need to do is dish out some new jobs for some of us who will be working in the base and i need volunteers for this ......so we need docking bay crew and also staff to man the control room so ......here is a piece of paper which i will leave on my cammand chair anyone interested ......fill it out boys"
Crew : "Aye aye....sir"
Immediately seven crew members put their names on the list and it made Darius proud that his crew were very driven towards making their new home a good place and eventually it would be inviting people aboard to trade and buy.......
The day breezed by and crew and Darius did all sorts of small jobs that needed some attention ....so this day was another day to be proud.......
STRANGE SITING AND INVESTIGATION (CONTINUED)......THE DAY COMES.......
IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
After having time to rest and time to test the Marauder engines a few more times Darius realised that this was the day they must make their way to Freeport 11.They were in no way going to enter Maltese space so as not to upset any Outcast assets that could be present because the Marauder was not fit to fight let alone fly.
The crew were hard at work making sure everything was right and there would be no problems on their journey.
The Marauder was in bettter shape than Darius had expected and pulse engines were not a problem and the core was holding out no problem on the tests and cruise power could possibly be used if needed in short bursts.
Marin : "Well Boys today is the day we embark on another mission,another mission of many that i have endured with all of you and hopefully my precious ship will have its final refit and i promise this refit will be better than the last one"
Darius shook hands with all the crew and said.....
Marin : "Thankyou all boys and its time to board the Marauder and set off,if we set off at this early hour we should make good time and come across less problems.............."
STRANGE SITING AND INVESTIGATION (CONTINUED)......Repairing the Marauder
IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
8 days have passed since the Marauder docked at Freeport 11 and the repairs were taking longer than expected,alot of systems control panels were severely damaged by the journey to Freeport 11 which in turn has lead to a full rewire of every control system on the bridge of the Marauder.
Darius was getting impatient and the crew were tired and restless after doing nearly 14 hours a day working as hard as thet can to get the Q-ship fully functional.
Apart from the repairs their stay on Freeport 11 has been really good the crew and staff aboard this vast station have been brilliant in suppying the crew with food water and anything they require;
Darius has had numerous meetings with Melissa and she has cooperated fully with everything that he has asked for and any supplies equipment and so on.......
So hopefully repairs will not take too much longer and Darius and his crew will be on their way as soon as possible.
So the crew continued to proceed with repairs and hoped it was not going to take too much longer and they can make their way back to Corsica Outer Rim.................(To be continued.......)
STRANGE SITING AND INVESTIGATION (CONTINUED)......The Marauder is FINISHED
IDENTIFICATION PROTOCOL : OFFICIAL LOG .....Commander Darius Marin.....
SO....... After more days and days and days of repairs and problems and systems breaking down and lots and lots of hard work.........
The Marauder is finally ready to leave for home and Darius and the crew are so excited to get back to Corsica because that means they can get back to thier new home ......seeing as the base now belongs to Darius Marin and his crew....
So Darius seems to like the title of CEO and obviously his crew will be given promotions as base crew members and special operatives aboard the Marauder.
Darius personally thanked Mellisa for all of her help and was hoping to be in touch in the future once the base has been sorted out and brought to full operation.
Darius has big plans for the base and will be in deep discussion with the crew about how to run things and get all of the modules ready for visitors staying over and lots of traders and pilots visiting...
Relations will be set up with as many people as possible to ensure the base has good relations with as many groups as possible....
SO...for now Darius is excited and pleased its been a good transition period and the crew are happy....
