As a partial solution to this: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...tid=172793

Since you can have 2 the the power of 32 credits on each of your character (including the value of all the stuff), wouldn't it be a good idea to have an Admin run permanent PoB-style-plugin (or SQLite DB) in Bastille/Station-Graveyard system to which players could log into using something like /bank login username password and withdrew/store money using /bank withdraw /bank store ? Since some PoBs are already storing like 15 billion credits.

I can imagine questions around the lines of "how to reset forgotten password", well in that case you could just set a DEFAULT char to which a /pm with the current password should be sent to. Or set a list of characters that have paswordless access.

It's just an idea, probably not hard to implement and might do it myself as i'm working in the C++ field.

Any person/dev that think this is worth the time?

Having billions on hand with no incentive to spend is the issue here. We don’t want to condone credit hoarding by making it easier.

As for the original thread, revaluing the currency does nothing if the underlying faucet/sink dynamic is imbalanced. It’s time we worked on that.

Some people here have spent considerable amount of time by trading/doing-missions while there was and wasn't somebody to RP with. I know of at least two people who will not fall-back to dirty escape techniques or poor RP and will pay the pirate regardless if they have millions or tens to hundred billion on their accounts. Both of those often find themselves in the range of billions of credits rather easily.

I referenced the thread as rebalancing the numbers is /probably/ way harder compared to writing a simple database plugin.

Does it matter how much money is in the Game?

I don't think so.

There is no economy, no worries of recessions and definitely no upper limit to what the Game can have as credits.

As for reducing everyone's money by 90% and the cost of everything by 90%, I will still be, effectively, as rich as I was before and still nothing to spend my billions on after being reduced by 90%.

Wealth changes how people play. When the limits of money are lifted, people look for new challenges. They often find them in each other.

The only fair way the game limits what people can and can’t do is with money. Aside from that there’s admin/dev approved goodies which currently are much less credible.

When people cooperate to beat the game, it’s really inspiring to see. When people cooperate to beat each other, it’s one of the ugliest things on the internet.

Uhh again and again - making limit farer make window for eco balance wider. If you have no limit you can just inflate all prices after it to reduce wealth.

Denomination is only first step.

But ,then we will need 90% less bank ships to keep araund.
I wuld rater have only 3 bank ships to maintain instead 30 .
Also, 90% less bank ships to check araund when doing administrator tasks.
