Sitting in a small unkempt room aboard of Roppongi Station, New Tokyo, agent Spyglass has just returned from their recon mission in the Omicrons. For the agent, it was more or less a routine even though it included gathering intel on two warring quasi-houses with a hefty chance of ending up in their scopes while doing so. This time there was a rather close call with some Outcasts who did not view the agent's presence favourably, though Spyglass managed to gave them the slip.

The agent did not complain about the abundance of recon missions, they knew that such intel can save lives. Nonetheless words of the Kempeitai ethos came to mind.

"You are the first and the last line of defense of Kusari.
You are the shield protecting our citizens and the sword that strikes against our foes.
No task is too big and none too small."
For your service you will receive no honours and no public gratitude.

These words always inspired Spyglass and made them dream of something bigger other than just recon missions.

In preparation for the report they had to file, Spyglass was just about to open a bottle of rather cheap sake when their data console made a quiet beeping sound. The agent twitched slightly. This was unexpected. Their standing orders were clear and Spyglass did not expect any communication from their handler's side for any foreseeable future. They put down the bottle and grabbed a Kempeitai issue decoder from a nearby desk. After connecting it to the data console, the screen came to life:

CONNECTING...

RECEIVING MESSAGE... MESSAGE RECEIVED
Classification level: TOP SECRET
DECRYPTING MESSAGE...18 %...45 %...87 %...
MESSAGE DECRYPTED

Operation Hiroshima's Dawn

The file opened and Spyglass began to read. Their eyes got progressively wider and a feeling of lightheadedness became stronger with each passing sentence. When done, the agent took a deep breath and read the whole file once again. Then with slightly shaking hands, Spyglass simply replied:

Message received.
Commencing operation.
