Laptop Suggestions?

Okay right off the back, this desktop is terrible, the laptop that I used to play Freelancer on WAS terrible, and is now a smoldering pile of wires. I'm now in the market for a laptop, the only real limit is my price cap, which is 600 dollars (Yeah I'm poor). I am currently looking into a couple of laptops at Bestbuy, most notably a new-ish Inspiron from Dell shown here:

And a Toshiba shown here, (Leaning towards the Dell because its on sale, as well as screen size, 3 gigabites of RAM to the Toshiba's 2)

I have heard a few bad things about the Dell from a couple of folks, although really just about Inspirons in general.
Sidenote- Vista Home Premium preloaded would be preferred...

HP Laptops are pretty nice, My 17" laptop with Nvidia GeForce Go7600 cost me 1400 at Costco, but there were 15" that were just as powerful at about 600-800.

Good suggestions although I thinhk I am actually going to go with that Inspiron, mostly because they offered to up it to 4gb's of RAM for a measly 25 bucks more.
