I recently downloaded the newest version of iTunes-- version 7.0.0.70, or so it says. Well, it's all blue and ugly now. Anyway, when ever I try to run it while playing Freelancer, the songs start to "skip", like a skipping CD. The songs get all messed up. So far as I can tell, this only happens with Freelancer, but then, I haven't been playing any other games lately while listening to iTunes. Back when I had version 6.something, it worked fine. So, I don't know what the problem is, but I would like to know: is anyone else having trouble with iTunes? And, if so, have you found a way to fix it?

I-Tunes ... Bad as MS for trying to take over ya system ... Won't give it house room.
Lighter note on the MS though, Media Player gives me no problems playing Freelancer,
Music clear as a bell and easy to play ... Damn, did I really say that.

Winamp is better, but that's just me :P

If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov
The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor

Going to agree with Nightfall here. WinAMP rocks the box, and here are four good reasons:

1- It's not Windows Media Player OR Itunes.
2- It has a llama whippin' intro.
3- It doesn't import as a totally uncool .wma format.
4- It has an equaliser.

Also it works fine with FL, so there's no skipping or any of that jazz.

Play a Microsoft CD backwords, and it plays satanic messages. Play it forwards, and it does something worse - It installs Windows.

Yeah, I've discovered that WMP works well with Freelancer, but I would prefer iTunes, since it's easier for me to get to, and all my songs are already in the right format there... well, I suppose my preference doesn't really matter in this case. I'll try a few things out, see which one works best for me.

Probly because the new iTunes takes up more ram or somthing. Though a song skipping might be CPU. But I am not sure.

The 7.0 version of iTunes is unstable, it seems. Just revert back to the old version if ya can.

(Stupid thing keeps crashin' my other commy... So! I didn't update it, here. Mostly because I was "too damned lazy" )

I agree with night and co. Winamp is way better. Much more powerful by far and more configurable. Also, you can control it completely by using key combinations (Like Ctrl+ALt+Ins to play, Ctrl+ALt+page up for next, Ctrl+ALt+page down for prior, etc...) without having to minimize the game.
I use winamp since version 1.xx and it simply rocks (not the version 3, that one sucks). I recommend you to use the classic skins though, its lighter for the computer. even for a high end system.
