Shining Brighter

A shining of surrounding light was the first thing that started my life path. Warming waves were swaying my essence, which brought me emotions of joy and comfort coming from something greater than me. A shell was around, and at that time it was all existing world for me.

Every living creature lefts its shell, I didn't know that at first, but other sparkles surrounding me were sending their knowledge, their memories. I was living inside them, seeing what they saw, feeling what they felt, hearing what they heard. I was enthralled by the beauty of the void, even without ever seeing it myself.

The time has come, when it was my time to be floating among the void and stars. I was asked to be a guard, to fly through our void and seek for intruders, threatening our hive.

All our paths among stars are connected to us, we feel when they are used to be flying faster. And in one of the days, the great gate was activated, by someone not from us. I saw them before in the memories implanted to me during my incubation. But remembering and seeing it for myself is different.

The metal life?-form attacked me with energy shots bringing pain and irritation. I was powerful enough to face it head-on. Answering with pain to its pain, shredding through its cold dark metals, and reaping from its body sources of its energy attacks.

When I finished with my enemy, telepathic waves came from other lights connected to me. They asked to collect all remains and to bring them to the destination they showed me, named in sounds as "Altair Research Complex"

It was a place of gathering for other life forms, which became ours through assimilation and infection. They offered me to go through more morphing, to make my body melded with cold metal parts named "Cruiser Blaster Turrets" to become stronger, to make my path serving the hive more successful. They named it as bio-tech adaptational process, which would infuse my body with additional small lights in the right places, becoming my capacitors and energy providers for metal parts to work.

I agreed to the experiment for the hive.
If that makes our hive stronger, so be it.
