For the last hour I've been unable to connect to the server. I've got the 4853 mod activated ok. Server shows up ok, but when I try to connect I get the message saying a connection could not be established. There's about 50 to 60 people on, so it seems I should be able to connect. The server has disappeared from the list a few times, so it may just be having problems, but I've not seen any other posts. Any advice/news would be appreciated.

I want to advice patience at this moment.

Gonna bump this as I'm still getting the same problem. I've done a complete reinstall of Freelancer, mod manager and beta 3. I know the server is up as there's 127 people on. Help please.

Check your firewall hasn't just decided it doesn't like Freelancer. Mine did ...
Tracert is showing it getting to your local area, no further.

Thanks for that Hood. I think I know what is causing the problem now. I'll be able to test it as soon as I can kill my remote connection to work, which I'm now sure is causing the problem.

EDIT: re-install did initially not work, but everything seems to be working just fine now

Yup, getting rid of the garbage my work connection insisted on cured the problem.

Zteever, what AV package are you using?

Making further use of this topic, i can't connect either. My firewall's turned off so it can't be that. I get the delay message, yano the...

"The requested operation is taking longer than expected"

...message until it finally gets to the...

"I'm sorry, but a connection could not be established to the server. This is usually caused....."

...message.

Anybody got the same problem, and if it's heard of could someone please let me know the way to go. It was running fine this morning (when i added Beta 3) but didn't seem to work after a random server crash.

Thanks

`Ash

Yeah, the server is maxing at 128 players, contrary to the server list info ... Being looked at as we speak.
