The Remnant

The Remnant is a small but steadily growing group of survivors seeking to form a properly functioning syndicate in the wake of their old pack's hierarchal collapse, perhaps confusingly, they seem to know less about the event that transpired at Alcatraz shortly after the Yellowstone and Lehigh's arrival to the Ontario incident than the rest of the underworld does, which isn't much of anything at all in either case. Currently lead by Blythe Blackwell, who was the leader of an outlier gang prior to the events of Hemlocke and Guile's deaths has now re-branded his pack with the name "Belmont Butchers" after the Belmont Yard, which just two months ago saw Blythe strongarming the local architects into squeezing out a new Scylla class cruiser to replace his old and aging one that was affectionately dubbed the "Belligerent Butcher" after his winning personality. The "Prideful Pillager" Blythe's old flagship, was now tasked with extending the Remnant's reach into Colorado, though naturally it would still suffer the wrath of Blythe's ego any time someone threatened his mostly uncontested claim of ownership over Galileo itself, and be subsequently forced to come running, leaving the crew with not only a task of utmost importance, but a severe case of whiplash.

The "Remnant" as Blythe refers to them, and himself as, despite his own pack bearing a name, mostly refers to the dregs that managed to make it across the pond from the core of Liberty to join the Belmont Butchers on Padua, but have yet to make a commitment to join Blythe's pack. Blythe, despite acting like a territorial, and stereotypical warlord of old when it comes to Galileo specifically, is smart enough to understand that forcing rogues to join his cause does not a strong foundation make, there were some things the old man did right, and what Blythe learned from that is it wasn't always the right time to show your strength, also to smile a lot more. But most importantly the old man had a head for logistics, something Blythe had been spoiled by in his days working with the Wolf of Alcatraz. While Blythe didn't have a head for numbers, he did have a head for making friends, friends were a commodity, and with friends, access to commodity increases. Following a dubious line of logic, Blythe set his smarter pack members on the loose to locate potential joiners to the Remnant interest of rebuilding a powerbase centralized in Galileo, which was sequestered away from the hair-brained infighting of the Big Leagues on Buffalo, and far-far away from whatever the hell happened at Alcatraz that day.

The first pack found by Blythe's scouts to bolster the Remnant's ranks would be a wandering warband of Hellhounds lead by one Jackson "Jax" Orwell, referring to themselves as the "Rippers", a re-branding after they were forced to separate from the improperly managed Fort McMurray "Ravagers", lead by Samson Wells, a self proclaimed king and melomaniac of extreme degree. After the Ravagers were forced to flee Alberta due to the storm, the Ravager's numbers were heavily cut down by malignant xenos in Ontario as they attempted to relocate to elsewhere in Liberty. With Samson Wells' reputation preceding him, and making it nigh impossible to find a port to call their own, Jax Orwell took it upon himself to separate his people from the problematic leader that was going to get them all killed. In the time since then, the Rippers had bounced from port to port, becoming a wandering warband that scrounged and raided for the supplies they needed, or supplies they could sell to get what they could and keep their vessels running. Jax was able to keep this momentum going for some time, and along the way, the Rippers gained a few more Hellhound crews to add to their warband, eventually giving themselves a proper name the "Ripper's League". Though with success, came new pains, the larger the warband, the more ships that needed to repair, the more ships that needed maintenance the longer the Rippers were forced to stay put. Still lacking a port to call their own, and having a vague familiarity with the old pack, Jax and his boys were quick to accept the Butcher scout's offer to come to the negotiation table. Blythe needed muscle to secure the homefront, and Jax needed a homefront before his boy's muscle meant anything, the conversation naturally drifted to Galileo proper, as the conversation trudged along, Jax got the distinct impression that so long as he didn't "lay claim" to Galileo, the Rippers would mostly just be there to posture threateningly at anything that made Blythe angry, which meant they didn't necessarily have to do anything, so much as be that thing the Galileo warlord could point to during negotiations. This was a sweet gig, and an easy agreement for Jax, who thought to himself that the Rippers having a port of their own during this ordeal, and not having to immediately start shooting things would give his people the time to set up, and figure out if Blythe was actually mentally stable enough to be working with.
