Killed/Destroyed while paused but how?

Could someone tell me why when playing multiplayer on the RP server how I could be killed when the game is paused using the F1 key with the resume game & other options showing on screen?

If you were on the server, entering the menu via F1 does not pause the game. You could have been shot by a player, NPC or flew into a solar. Best thing to do is dock at a base.

Because Discovery Freelancer is MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game. Although many don't consider this game MMO, but it's a fact. So, yah, as mentioned above you just can't pause an online game – the game world lives its own life regardless of the player actions. The first time I see such a question, to be honest. This looks especially funny in 2020, huh.

Aperently, one of Players or NPC in that multiplayer game mod , learned MR.Smith Matrix trick and has ability to bypass pause game...

Btw, i can see MR.Red Dwarf statemant is worthy to become meme or will earn place in somome signature .

Some RP servers have ghost mode, think GTA 5, where when activated the player cannot interact or be interacted with, for moments if they need to go AFK.
