I've recently gotten myself a Zoner Gunboat for a Freelancer of mine to serve as an Escort ship.
As things go I didn't get to do much escorting on the first day, but I got to help the Liberty Navy in fending off a Rheinland force that had a Cruiser with it in Texas.
I noticed that when you are turning hard in the Gunboat, like for example when flying circles around a Cruiser, you won't be able to fire all four guns forward and to the side.
The rear-firing arcs are perfectly fine and so on, but the forward ones aren't. You get to fire the two turrets pointed towards the target you're flying circles around and that's all.
Here's two pictures to demonstrate:
(firing sidewards to the rear)
(trying to fire sidewards to the front)
Of note is the direction the left-side turrets are facing in both pictures.
While the Zoner Gunboat is rather fat in the front, I wonder if something could be done about this still, because I see it becoming a valid choice for Freelancers and Mercenaries, but your combat power isn't really great when half of your turrets can't do anything during a tight turn which you'll be doing lots of in combat if you want to stay alive in this big thing.

Next is the Order Battleship Atum parked in the Alaska System.
I was undocking from it earlier and noticed that it didn't fire on the Liberty Navy NPCs that spawned around it.
It does fire on the Nomad ones and it does fire on Players hostile to it, but not on the Liberty Navy NPCs.
Considering the following is in its infocard:
"From its position, hidden within Alaska's nebula, Order
forces fend off attempts by the Liberty Navy and the
Bounty Hunters Guild to advance into Omicron Minor
proper. "
You'd think if the Order forces would shoot the Liberty Navy (which the NPCs of both factions do, they shoot eachother), their Battleship there would do too.

Kthxbai.
Actually, last version, the Order and Navy NPCs did not shoot each other. The BHG shot the Order, and vice versa, and everyone shot the Nomads, but Navy and Order seemed to be neutral...
Dunno if this state of affairs persisted into the new version.
....and cause the ship is more regarded as a zoner armoured transport mk2. while it cannot fire 4 of its guns in a blazing attack it is one of the most agile gunboats around - while at the same time being pretty large. its not meant to be too powerful - but powerful enough.
its main purpose is to get out of trouble ... in case you inevitably got into it. - its purpose is not to find trouble. - besides - it was made sure that it is one of the few mostly generic ships around... and the zoners wouldn t sell everyone a gunboat class ship that was too powerful in "attacking"... they d make sure its good at "defending" though.
