The Purging of Drake

OVERVIEW


The Order have been operating in the Coronado system for some time, using the Battleship Atum as their eyes and ears in the region. Of paramount importance has been quarantining the Wild presence in the Drake system, and monitoring the power levels of the cryptic Nomad jump gate charging within. It has been with alarm that the Order's agents have reported a sudden spike in charge, indicating that another activation may be planned. Unwilling to allow these plans to come to fruition, Order commanders reached out to the Crayter Republic as the largest local force who could be trusted to support an Order operation.

After briefing the Republic on the severity of the situation, a proposal was put forward for a joint mission to purge the system of its Wild presence. The Atum would attempt to knock out Bottrop Depot with the Republic's support, while auxiliary wings fended off waves of nomad reinforcements. Once the area was secure, the Order's scientists would search for a method to disable the gate or otherwise redirect the charge. As the task-force jumped into the system, sensors indicated wild subspace fluctuations around the gate - whatever it was attempting to achieve was already beginning to tear unstable jump rifts into reality...

DETAILS

  • PVE bounty modifiers have been increased to 1.5 in Drake.
  • PVE bounty modifiers have been increased to 1.1 in Coronado.
  • $10m bounty rewards have been added to Nomad, Nomad Trial, K'hara, Vagrant, Vagrant., Wild, Wild (SRP) and Wild Pawn IDs for Order and CR players to claim in Drake and Coronado.
  • $10m bounty rewards have been added to Order and CR IDs for Nomad, Nomad Trial, K'hara, Vagrant, Vagrant., Wild, Wild (SRP) and Wild Pawn players to claim in Drake and Coronado.

Date:
Friday 12th June - Friday 19th June.

Rule changes:
  • For the duration of the event, Drake will be a 'contested system', reducing the cooldown timer for PvP death to 30 minutes instead of the usual 1 hour.
  • For the duration of the event, Nomad, Nomad Trial, K'hara, Vagrant, Vagrant., Wild, Wild (SRP) and Wild Pawn are considered to have ZOI in Drake and Coronado, and the ability to treat any non-Nomad ships in those systems as combat targets.
NOTES

This event is a prelude to system changes occuring in the next patch.

We're unsure how the faction balance is going to work out so additional groups may be added to even sides depending on the turnout.

A one way jump hole exists in Omicron Iota for access to Drake. I am currently looking into similar options for Tohoku and Omega 55.
