so I have a bunch of creds sitting unused, and I figure it might best go towards enhancing the RP depth of the server by going towards a new faction. Already have a battleship, so I'm not really saving towards anything (other than cap 8 armor, which is pretty much a waste anyways in my opinion).
All in all, I can guarantee 300 million towards either one of these ideas, or something similar.
Note that both of them are freelancer factions and do not really fall in with the existing server factions.
1 (and the one I'm more excited about):
A peace-protester faction. This faction would not be specific to any of the Houses; its membership would consist of concerned citizens from any and every corner of Sirius who oppose war, whether between Rheinland and Liberty, Kusari and Bretonia, Hispania and everyone, the SCRA and everyone, and so forth. Essentially a bunch of peacenik hippies.
We would gather at pre-determined times in various capital systems and speak out against military aggression of any sort, and rail against the social and political policies of the governments of whatever House we happen to be in.
We would avoid the use of capital ships at all, since this would be highly unnecessary for the purposes of a group of peace activists. We would primarily use light ships like the Arrow and perhaps freighters (to carry activists to the protests) and so forth, so obviously we would avoid PvP confrontations at almost any cost.
Further activities would be to follow and interfere with the work of military and police vessels, especially capital ships. No, we would not ram the ships, nor send any OORP messages.
In general, anything to undermine the local war effort short from straight-out attacking the police and military. This would include activities such as disrupting tradelanes being used to by police, military, and their suppliers and transmitting anti-war messages on open comms. No, we would not pirate players, since we wouldn't have the equipment and it would be contrary to our nonviolent message.
Now, you say, this would be highly annoying to military and police players. That's kind of the point; real-life peace activists do the same sort of thing. We would push the limits of the patience of those players, and if they open fire on us, we would record the incident, publicize it, and in general try to create a scandal and shame the for government trying to kill innocent civilians and quash free expression (just like real-life protestors). If possible, we would try to have a small group RP laywers, just to be a further thorn in the side of warmongering House governments. Of course, we would enact internal policies to avoid spamming system and local chat.
Now, membership in such a faction would require a strong and up-to-date knowledge of the politics of Sirius, as well as the laws of each government we will be dealing with. It would also require strong RP skills, since PvP will be almost nonexistent for this faction.
Anyways, that's a rough sketch of the first idea; the second will be posted tomorrow.
I know there's not a lot of information here; this is just to test the waters.

I some what hate and love this idea of yours...Love in the sense, since you will try to stop the war(which I think is highly impossible)will bring relief to traders affected by trade embargo's....

No, this is not a Gaian version in ''Liberty''.
They would operate throughout Sirius, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some activists in Omicron Theta, trying to calm down the Corsair/Outcasts war.
This idea is great; several factions, such as the Junkers, The Zoners, and corporations, all are about PvPs, and no fighting skills. This idea is excellent, you just need an open mind.
ANd, contrarily to Gaians, we do not blow things up.
The main problem with this peace protester idea, is that there is no way for the Government to win. This isnt real life, and there isnt any system for arresting people, so in this system the only options for the Government (the house forces) is to either, Destroy the ships create a PR incident, shame and all the things you mentioned, or Ignore you. If they ignore you, you would continue to increase your disturbance until it actually interfered with their operations. Neither is a good option, if there were some mechanism for properly arresting people in the game, this would be a great idea, but when your options are do nothing, or destroy them, it doesn't really work.

First of all, government fails. As in, strong restriction in power.
Second, I don't have an open mind. I prefer creating an opinion.
Third, well, just because someone is unarmed does not mean they are a threat to that given LN faction, or whatever you refer to.

It would force the Navy to either shoot you or ignore you. Do you think protesters in Jail, still have the ability to shout out their slogans for all to hear. It's just not fair to the Navy, as there is no way for them to come out of it well.
In the United States for instance, when someone wants to stage a protest, they need to apply for a permit and meet various requirements. If they dont abide by the rules, they are asked to leave, if they dont they are arrested. Done and done, no big deal. I can tell you as someone who has done alot of protesting in my day, that most protest groups are in fact, interested in getting the police to do something wrong, and they will go very far, sometimes to the point of breaking the law themselves to get the police to do that. This is your point here, problem is that in real life when you get arrested, you go away, pretty quietly in fact, you dont get to stick around the system chanting your slogans.
If you rp'ed being arrested and not being able to keep talking, I can tell you exactly how it would go, you would show up, spout off slogans until one of your people got impatient and did something silly, they would arrest you, and it would be done.
If you were to do it, I would say, one of the things a government would do is say you can only protest in area X, and you can't leave area X. Also they would probably say that you can't use system chat, only Local. You would have an effective range of maybe 20k where people could hear your message. Maybe have a march type thing from one base to another, using local the whole way. The key would have to be the limits you and the opposing group set on it. There would have to be a way for the lawfuls to win, it would be for a set amount of time, if nothing happens and you spout your slogans by the rules set, the lawfuls come out ok, if you get out of line, the lawfuls arrest you, and they come out alright, but if you get under their skin enough, then they attack you and you win. Chasing Battleships is no good, because in real life, they would just arrest you, like they do with greepeace ships that get in the way of naval operations in real life.
Lastly, I wouldnt try and get between the OC and the Sairs, I can also tell you how that will go......."Dont fight! Make Love Not War! Arms are for... *Boom*" Done and done. They dont really care about bad PR.
