1. Why cannot Junkers use Gallic Civilian Tech?
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p35...7oTLg&gid=0
All other Gallic factions, even pirates, can, but Junkers not. They are gallic original faction, neutral to lawfulls. Rumors said they brought to Gallia tech from Sirius, but they cannot use civilian ships. How did they bring all those tech things to Gallia? They can buy in Gallia only CSV and Collector. I need clarification.

2. Can Council trader operate on all over Sirius, selling their gallic goods, and bringing back what they need?

Because Gallic tech stays in Gallia, regardless of who has it. YOU try telling a Junker he can only stay in one place. Or better yet, try enforcing where a Junker goes. Speaking from experience I can tell you it's near impossible keeping them out of places they don't belong. :P

On that side note, what's the big deal about Gallic tech? I keep getting told that the shield busters link up perfectly with Barragers, but the speed is completely wrong.

Thanks for the answer. I didn't even know about galic shield busters, I am not interesting in that.
I thought to make galic junker char, who would be known that he is galic, because he use galic ship. Or Council trader who is looking for goods which are needed.

I don't understand the reason, but rule is rule.

Staying only in Gallia is not fun, there is nothing interesting. On the evening, no NPCs, Gallia is completely empty boring space.

That's kind of an interesting point. Perhaps it could be something like it is with the Freelancer ID, where it's allowed, but only in Gallia? Or only disallow ships?

I hadn't heard any rule about Gallic tech staying in Gallia. If you had a Gallic freelancer or mercenary, it would make more sense for him to be using Gallic civvie equipment. What, is the Council going to tell him he can't leave in that ship? Where is he supposed to get a non-Gallic ship if he can't leave in a Gallic ship?

Gallic tech should be able to go anywhere, it's certain Gallic factions which should stay in Gallia.

Any Admin want to explain the reasoning to me?

The Hood said that all Gallic weaponry was to remain in Gallia.

I was wondering about the reasoning behind that, how it makes any sense at all, and how it's supposedly enforced in-RP.

I too am interested in the reasoning behind this.

Particularly in light of Special Roleplaying Characters and their requirements:

Quote:Special Role-Playing Characters

This forum category will be used for posting threads for characters that use customized role-playing.

Who should post here?

The admins have agreed that the main reason to introduce the practice of special character approval is to prevent players from using doubtful RP excuses using non-RP ships and weaponry. So, our task is not taking away freedom of choice, but rather prevent out-of-RP setups from appearing without any logical background. This forum is meant to determine if the background is logical or not.

Slight changes in equipment or weaponry (like using an occasional gun of another faction while having generally correct ship setup) should not require post in this forum. Changes that do require posting are:

- Using ship not belonging to the faction or its close allies;
- Using weapon/equipment setup that significantly differs from player faction's;
- Other cases of using out-of-RP ship, eqipment setup or unusual role-playing alignment.

My bold and italics.

I have a Gallic-born Gaian character who uses a single Council Missile Turret. Am I going to get into trouble for that?

Well, I suppose Gallia is very strict and highly restrictive of its weaponry and such to only ships that serve inside Gallia. But I'm just guessing, I don't know much about any Gallic RP at all.

Obviously GRN/GRP and possibly other Gallic equipment/ships would be limited, but Gallic civilian ships/equipment should be allowed outside of Gallia. They're publically available (to Gallians, at least), and as far as I know the Council isn't preventing Gallic civilians from leaving. That'd be completely against their goals. And the Council is the only faction which could possibly prevent Gallic civilians in Gallic civilian ships/with Gallic civilian equipment from leaving... And even that's debatable, now that the minefield is open. Someone could slip/run out, even if they did try and stop it.
