So .. i flew with my Junker thru Theta the first time and took the Jumphhole to Gamma ...
I jumped ... and jumped ... and jumped ... and the jump took longer and longer .... after about 3 Minutes I canceled Freelancer, reconnected to the server after 5 Minutes, and ... yes ... i was in Gamma, but not right behing the Jumphole!
I appeard left to the Omicron-91 Jumphole! And no, i didnt flew thru the System without noticing it, because i also didnt have the Theta Jumphole on my map..
Strange, isnt it? Thought i should report it here..

That's an old bug. If you lag out while in a JH, you'll remain stuck in the jump tube thing. Depending on where you crashed, you'll either appear in the system you came from either outside the JH, or on the last base you were on, or in the other system at the grid coordinates of the JH you jumped into in the last system.
So, if you jumped into a hole on the far left of a system that would lead to an exit on the far right of the next system, and crashed half way, you might appear on the far left hand side of the destination system instead.

::facepalm::
Anyways, I've heard of people trying to exploit this in the past. I think it's sanctionable as an abuse of the game engine, so don't get any ideas people...

In my eyes, if anyone tried to do this. would be stupid. how would it help you?
By the time the thing lagged out and the 59 second wait to get back in game you could of already been to the other side of the system without having to cheat. Also, you never know what part of the system you'll be in when you jump back out.
Also on a side not. i lagged out one time coming into NY from California and was kicked,. when i logged back on i was in Zone-21 and i went poof! So, lost all my cargo and such. but that was months and months ago.
That bug where you F1'd out to in the same location in the next system is one that i've seen used by traders.
It can certainly help cut travelling times which in turn means more profit in less time, but it is convenient even for general travel.
I think what put a stop to it here is the one minute rule thing, when if you log in space, it takes around a minute to log back in under the same character and account. Beforehand, you could just log back in straight away and be on your merry way!
I had a similar problem until I turned 3D sound off.
Just a note, the title is rather... ahem, well, you know...

It's called the f1 jump trick and doing it gets you banned for three minutes. Basically the way jumpholes work is a little odd, thy pop you out someplace very different from where you do eventually come out, and then the other half of the jumphole drags you back to where it is. Disconnecting in the middle of that computation causes you to appear in the place the you initially pop out. Now sometimes it's good, can put you right near to the next system you want to jump to. Sometimes it's bad, pops you out 200k from anything remotely resembling civilization, and sometimes it's terrible, pops you out in the midle of a sun or planet. Either way it still bans you for three minutes, ergo wasting any time bonus you might have gotten.
