Hello everybody. I'm in a dilemma and hopefully some of you have the answers for me. So, before 4.85 I was roleplaying a character that was half Order and half Corsair. Basically, I had a Corsair IFF and ID but I also worked with the Order in various missions against nomads, protecting Toledo and patrolling Omicron Minor and so on. I used to fly a Nephthys and had Nomad Energy Blasters for weapons. Back then everything was fine but 4.85 came out with a new set of rules plus some drama caused by The Order and I had to give up both on the weapons and the Nephthys because I was a corsair.

In time, things settled down and I was able to use the Nephthys again but the Nomad Blasters are still out of reach and I really really love them. So, as I was reading through the ID list I found the Special Operative ID, which apparently grants me the right to use different ships and equipment as long as I still behave according to my IFF's faction, so the question is:

Will the Special Operative ID grant me the right to mount Nomad Energy Blasters even though I'm half corsair? If so, what do I have to do get one?

I really hope there is a solution to this problem because right now it's not really fun to be stuck with some class 9 guns and I really dislike codenames due to their inefficiency and, what I consider to be, bad graphics on most of them.

Sorry, only order personal can use Nomad equipment, only we have the technology to do so (in RP), I think that is the reason. For future reference here is a link to the technology use chart http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p35...0upJbuLWZO7oTLg .

I am aware of that. That's why I asked if it's possible to use it as a "half order pilot" under special roleplaying.

under the tag of "special roleplay character" basicly everything is possible - thats what makes them special. the point is - is your justification strong enough to justify a special char.

Just so you know RP exemptions aren't usually granted because someone wants to use certain equipment, they are granted because someone has been working on a character for a minimum of months and their RP has taken them in a direction that other equipment would represent them better in game. Considering you dont have a single post in any RP section of this forums this really does not seem like the case. If you really want to do this I suggest you start working on the RP, develop a story involving other Corsair and Order players (as they would have to give you the technology unless you were to steal it, which would probably be rejected right away anyway as it is terribly cliche around here) and develop it for a while before filling a request. Requests also cost money now, so keep that in mind.
