Home Secretary,

Firstly an apology. The statement in the advisory given was not clearly defined. This has been clarified and rectified. A statement has been added to the advisory notice (below)

>>>Under 4.3.4 - Base Operational Regulations
  • All Bases must be fitted with sufficient evacuation equipment to prevent the loss of life of residents and crew, should the Base become compromised via circumstances artificial or natural.

It is this law that is being enforced, with emphasis on "should the Base become compromised via circumstances artificial or natural". <<<

I have apologised publicly for the error.

I need not remind the The Home Secretary that the Bretonian Police Authority has acted within The Bretonian Charter of Interstellar Law 4.8 - Deeds Prejudicial to the Good Conduct of Public Affairs.

Now to other pressing matters. I would also remind the Home Secretary:
  • That the Home Secretary must not be seen to be undermining those authorities and enforcement agencies charged with the Law and Order within Bretonia's systems.

That Bretonian Government officials must seek to resolve any issue internally directly with the authorities concerned in the first instance. This did not happen.

The Bretonia Government does not interfere directly with the day to day operations of its various authorities.

In relation to your comment intimating Sergeant Desma Trebilco somehow is being influenced by the Gaians I find it totally unacceptable. Sgt Trebilco is a loyal and hard working valued member of the BPA). Had I been informed on this matter it would have been cleared up without the public knowing.

You have stated publicly that an internal investigation is underway on Sgt Trebilco she has been placed on "indefinite leave". That is not the prerogative of any politician do so. Sgt Trebilco is NOT stood down until such time as you present us with compelling evidence and a request to stand her down. The decision has not been well received by BPA staff. It would be in the best interests of all for the Home Secretary to retract that statement if at all possible.

Sincerely,

Betty Briscoe
Superintendent
Bretonia Police Authority
