ATTN OF: .......... Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Sir Henry Fairfax.

SUBJECT: .......... DSE|- operations Bretonia - Aland Shipyard

Sir Henry

I wish to inform your Government of our ongoing commitment to Bretonia and its rebuild.
Deep Space Engineers (DSE|-) has decided to keep resources and most facilities permanently in Bretonia thus retaining its excellent staff, most of whom are Bretonian citizens.

Many of the staff are highly experienced shipwrights, once working in Southampton shipyards. As such we highly value the opportunity to secure Aland shipyards as a way to capitalise on the skills and experience we have on hand.

In regards to Aland Shipyards I would like to put a proposal to yourself about the potential of operating as a Public Private Partnership (PPP). It is a very effective way of getting greatest benefit all round.

It will mean the costs of investment to be spread over the lifetime of the asset and, therefore, allow infrastructure projects to be brought forward in years compared to the pay-as-you-go financing that is typical of many infrastructure projects. And you would keep Bretonian workers employed, which is always important to keep voters happy.

A key distinction between PPPs and traditional procurement methods is that the risks associated with the ownership and operation of Aland are largely borne by DSE|- rather than the Bretonian public sector. A very important consideration given the financial restraints upon Bretonia presently.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon Sir Henry.

Regards,

Hello, and good day to you, mister Hunter! I bid you a good day, but sir, I'm afraid I must disappoint you. Bretonia is interested in a quick boost. Lots of dosh, here, now, at once! An instant monetary injection to restart the economy. We can think about investment later. But I will still take your kind offer into consideration and share it with the Chancellor of the Exchequer. The sale is part of his policy. Maybe he'll like it.

Sir Henry

We are still looking for an operational shipyard within Bretonia's borders. Scarborough is now out of the question, Southampton is scrapped and leaves precious little available.

Consequently, we again are looking at Aland. In so doing we wish to submit another offer. Fifty-seven billion credits.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon Sir Henry.

Regards,
