拝啓木城株式会社取締役殿, (//"haikei kishiro kabushikigaisha torishimariyaku dono" - Dear representative of the Kishiro Corporation)
I am Shimamori Masahito of Shimamori clan, hailing from Haneda, Honshu. I am reaching to you in good spirit seeking cooperation in one of your matters of expertise. Recently I managed to acquire a hull of an old decommissioned "Date"-class heavy cruiser used by the KNF in the past. The hull is a ship in name only: it is stripped of all machinery and electronics, lacks a power core and an engine, and of course, weaponry. Still, it is build of albeit old but still military-grade alloys and is a good basis for a ship. I would like to inquire if your corporation would be interested in restoring the ship to its former glory while updating it to modern standards. I assume, it might still be subpar to modern equivalents but should it be capable of holding a fight against the pirates and rendering support to smaller spacecrafts, it will suffice. Another specific request is to ivestigate the possibility of turning the obsolete forward gun into a heavy missile-launching point, the cannon barrel acting as missile silo.
The ship is intended for one of the retired KNF captains now in the employ of my clan as a retainer. Needless to say, it is to be used to safeguard peace and stability primarily in Honshu system for the benefit of the Empire, my clan, and possibly your corporation. Shimamori clan is ready to take the expenses for the restoration of the ship in question. Due its current location on the surface of Honshu, I am most interested in the services rendered on Yukawa shipyards if station's drydocks are capable of working with a ship of such class and size. The blueprints from 3D scanning the hull are attached below.

Konichiwa venerable Shimamori sama.
You honor us by reaching out to Kishiro with such a noble goal.
With the war with Gallia ended, thanks to the wisdom of our emperor, Kishiro is once more able to pursue
our many projects and technological advancements. We welcome the opportunity to work on this project
with you.
Yukawa Shipyard would indeed be the ideal location to retrofit the vessel, we will make preparations to ensure
the vessel can be properly serviced.
Will you be able to deliver the hull to the station, or would you prefer we send our experienced teams over to
assist you in this matter?
The costs will of course not be inconsequential, but we are confident it will be no problem for the esteemed Shimamori clan.
I am very pleased to find Kishiro Corporation helpful as always, especially to the locals of Honshu. I ask forgiveness for the delay in the reply, in this time we organised the delivery of the hull to Yukawa shipyard by a local contractor. The hull with your clearance is now in the drydocks. I have no doubts in the engineering crews of Kishiro and am sure the ship can and will be restored to its former glory.
Please, provide information on when the completion is expected and how much money you need for your work. In case of any additional requirements, such as exotic materials, or extra-funding, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please, accept the assurances of my appreciation of your assistance in this matter. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Konichiwa venerable Shimamori sama.
Arigato for the swift delivery of the hull, our engineering teams have already gotten to work testing and examining the hull so we can make an accurate estimate.
When they finish I will personaly inform you of the results so we can discuss the options for the retrofit, as well as costs.
We are honored you trust us to work on such an important part of Kusari history.

Our engineers have completed their assesment of the Date's hull and are currently designing several different options for you to consider
as we previously discussed. However, the government has requested that we pause our efforts on restoring the vessel until you have contacted them.
They appear to have some concerns about the vessels restoration, though we have full confidence that your noble clan will be able to reassure the empire
of your good intentions.
We have secured the hull to ensure that there is no risk of degradation or damage while it remains moored with the Shipyard.
This is an interesting development. Given how easily our military command sent our entire fleet to Gallia resulting in half of it having been vanquished, a thought that my humble attempts to bring back to life a flying antique would draw their attention has not crossed my mind. Perhaps, my assumptions were misguided. I understand their concern, albeit old, "Date" is still a warship, and with your masterful renovation it might even become on par with some more modern vessels of the same class. A non-registered capital vessel not belonging to the KNF can raise questions.
Oshirase de arigatou gozaimasu (//thank you for the notification). I will contact the KNF command in this regard. I think this matter is within their scope of responsibility. Please, await further notice. I hope this matter can be resolved soon.

My attempts to reach the naval command fell on deaf ears, and I suppose they preferred omission to deciding a delicate matter. I respect their choice and cannot have a say in it. Given the prohibition for your company to continue further works on "Date", I inform you that I have made a decision to cancel the previously reached agreement with Kishiro. A transportation team is arriving at this moment to the docks of Yukawa to take the hull back to Honshu. I am sorry for taking your time and efforts and for occupying one of the drydocks, impeding commercial ship construction.
In case I get a belated answer from the KNF, I will reach out to you again. Otherwise, I will either have to bury the project or seek for contractors outside Kusari.

This message is to inquire with this message if Kishiro Corporation is still interested in renovation of "Date"-class cruiser for Clan Shimamori and whether technological solutions required for such a project are feasible.
This is to inform you of the reached agreement with the Imperial Admiralty of Kusari regarding the renovation of previously discussed "Date"-class cruiser. The vessel is sought to be generally brought in line with modern vessels in terms of hardware and software allowing for space faring and life support of the crew throughout long voyage without visiting bases. Due to the ship not being directly under the supervision of the KNF, particular weaponry is allowed to be mounted, namely YDT-3a "Starflare" destroyer turrets. I assume, this should not be an issue to Kishiro famous for novel solutions in electronics and other high-tech fields. The forward cannon is more of an issue, as the cannon itself would require creating it from the scratch and entail expenses as well as issues with the esteemed Admiralty. Therefore, my previous suggestion of replacing the forward cannon with a missile silo has been agreed upon with the Imperial Admiralty. Captain Okamoto is particularly interested in "Desolator" missiles.
If esteemed Kishiro Corporation can carry out this work, Clan Shimamori is ready to return the hull to Yukawa shipyard as soon as possible. Naturally, all expenses will be covered and additional material logistics operations can be arranged.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and am thrilled about the unique opportunity before us.

Celebrations are truely in order for this great news; one seldom gets the chance to work on such an esteemed part of Kusari's history.
Kishiro would be honored to resume work on the restoration and retrofit of the 'Date' class cruiser hull, keeping the conditions of the Imperial Admiralty of Kusari in mind of course.
It gladdens me to hear that a missile silo in place of the original forward cannon would be suffice.
While there is an argument to be made for authenticity, designing a cannon that would pack a similar punch to modern vessels as it did back then would have been a time consuming albeit interesting challenge.
We shall prepare the drydock where it was moored before so the hull can be delivered.
I am sorry for the delay with the reply. Our recent operation with modular installation in Honshu has been sabotaged, adding up to the bureaucracy. Nothing serious, I assure you. Still, it slowed down our logistical capabilities and delivery of the hull became possible only now. At the moment of you reading this, it must have arrived at Yukawa already.

Delivery arranged, please feel free to reach me if anything else, e.g. financial contribution or materials, is needed. My clan will be happy to oblige.
Thank you for your everlasting support of Kusari and its people. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
