With new horizons inspired everyday on Livadia and the Corinth Research Annex making technological advances, a new carrier was being constructed to challenge the limits of space travel and go farther than any Zoner has potentially traveled before. With no expense spared and marvelous engineers utilized in the creation of this new project dubbed "The Citadel" This new class of Aquilon Carrier is meant to be as functional as a modern 827 A.S. ship can be but as self sustaining as a Colony Ship. The only thing this Aquilon and others before it have in common is the framing, everything else has had a complete rework. So expensive to produce Livadia has made it abundantly clear that only one will be made and its progress in the field will be monitored to gain an insight on its endeavors out in space. Should the numbers match there might be discussion to be had on making another. For now The Citadel has drawn the eyes of Zoners, Corsairs, The Order and even The Core. For now they have not attempted to gain access to this new ship at least not yet. Its orders are to not allow anyone aboard unless a life or death situation in which The Citadel must render aid.
The Bridge
The Bridge is state of the art compared to any Zoner ship to date. its uniquely equipped with up to date star charts, Three dimensional Holograms that allow recording and navigating through systems especially during harsh Storms a breeze. Its Captain Jerimiah Cornel has selected only the finest men and women to serve as the bridge crew. Each crew member that was selected has their own station on the bridge and is an expert in that specific field. Radio, Navigation, Weapons and Targeting, Pilot, Co Pilot, and sensors. The Bridge is a highway point between all sections of the Citadel which is why it is protected heavily and requires a level "S" clearance or authorization by the Captain to enter.
Hydroponics
Lead by Botanist Dr. Jean Holloway, Hydroponics aboard The Citadel provides the entire carrier with not only food, but a constant supply of air. If checked and meticulously maintained Dr. Holloway has stated that we will never need to port for fresh greens or a resupply of oxygen. The Captain has confidence in her ability and he work but that does not stop him from checking in every now and again to ensure oxygen levels and food is produced. The good Doctor has been researching new ways to grow crops faster which should curb the need for refitting for food for a very long time. At least that is what her theory is. For now The Captain has strict regulations to ensure he is properly notified should oxygen levels reach 75% capacity.
Living Quarters
Short and sweat as the crew calls them, these living quarters while small still provide crew members and visitors a good nights sleep with as much rest and relaxation as possible. The Captain is very relaxed with the customization the crew has over their rooms. So long as they live like adults the Captain does not snoop to much. The living quarters is meant to be a place where people can be themselves. A proper balance of work and rest is crucial when voyaging for long stretches. If the crew cant find that balance then you start fighting with fatigue and loss of interest which leads to poor performance when the time really calls for it. Recreationally areas are close by so they can socialize and play team building games together.
The Hangar
An important part of The Citadel, The Hangar is meant to house multiple exploration vessels and receive visitors. There is also one squadron of fighters aboard should for what ever reason the ship is ever attacked. The Hangar is protected by a force field that opens and closes manually to allow ships entry without having to open and close its blast doors. Spacious to house a decent amount of transports and fighters the Citadel is well equipped to dispatch or receive supplies quickly and effectively. The man in charge of the Hangar is Lieutenant William Pennington, retired Liberty Navy Officer. His skills are very useful when directing everything that goes on in the Hangar.
Medical
Equipped to handle mass casualties of war The Citadel's Medical Wing is lead by Doctor Mackenzie Remington. A well known and well educated woman from Bretonia. She was top of her class at the University of Cambridge and has seen combat during the Liberty Rheinland War. Some of the nurses still wonder how she moves around so fast given her old age but dont let that fool you. Her work is undeniably gifted and she has been credited with saving countless lives. She teachers her Doctors and Nurses under her everything she knows just incase in an unfortunate circumstances that she passes away. With the best medical equipment available to them The Citadel is in a great position to render aid not only to their crew but any passenger or visitor they come across.
Reactor Room
The Life of The Citadel so to speak. This reactor is made out of iridium and everything else is quite classified. Meticulously maintained this special reactor has the ability to function under extreme pressure with maximum reliability. It has the ability to put out 120% of power for a short duration to allow excess power be put to shields, engines and life support during emergency circumstances. The Engineers are lead by Master Technician Baxter who worked on Southampton Shipyard before it was scuttled during the Gallic Invasion of Bretonia. Hard working and a talented teacher he trains new engineers on the specifications of this reactor to ensure it is running at peak performance.
