SO, I decided to start a new faction. Got admin approval first and everything, so no need to flame. I Will Post in faction status soon.

A match flickers in the dark, and a face appears in the gloom, lit from below by a long, thick cigar

We are London Drugs Inc. Former members of the Cryer Pharmecuticals "Enforcement" Team, all of us, and a poor team we were. The local magistrate had just decided that a bunch of bums in ragged coats wasn't worth keeping on the payroll, unless we did this one little job. Apparently, someone had hijacked the latest shipment of anti-rad meds to some colony off in the wilds of northern Kusari. We set out, with our ragged ships and poor nav data, into the darkness of space. After a couple of weeks, we had became hoplessley lost, and stumbled into a dead system, a neutron star on the fringes.

Strange blips appeared on our sensor boards, and as we closed, we found a few dozen odd looking ships. When our boarding party entered the vessels, we discovered that no man had set foot on those vessels in years. Robots manned the consoles, Oxygen was nowhere to be seen, and not a sound was heard. When the Ships computer banks were pressed, it was discovered that the strange Ships were called 'X-Shuttles', and that they were a secret Kusari Government Project. As to what the ships were doing there, and why no humans were aboard, the computer had no clue. It did, however, have another little tidbit for us, in the form of... Cardemene. The holds of every single ship was stocked to the gunwales with the stuff, and more filled the spare spaces of every vessel. A Kings ransom, and who were we to say no? What were we, but poor, lost spacers? Spacers with a healthy knowledge of how things work in a cutthroat drug Trade... and now, the ships to trade it with.

So, we took those ships, leaving our old rustbuckets behind. Two men could run one in combat, and only one was needed in a pinch. Fifteen X-Shuttles, with a fortune in drugs, bought us all the weapons we needed, from Nova Torpedoes to Nuclear Mines, we were armed to the teeth, now all we needed was a port. Trafalgar Base, in New London, looked to be a likely harbor. The Junkers had no objection, two of our shuttles outgunned the entire base, and they like smuggling as much as any freelancer. The Junkers even had a supply of compatible spare parts, although where theyd come from, no one could remember.

A slow smile spread itself across his face, and he seemed to brim with a magnificent glee

Then, the fun started. We could outgun any fighter the bounty hunters or the police could throw at us, and massed fire could down even a destroyer. Battleships were few and far between, and we could always run. Cambridge research always needed a few Nomad Bits, and it seems everyone and their uncle was addicted to Something that we sold. We began to drift apart, there was rarely any need for even two ships to stick together anymore, and several pilots headed out for spaces unknown, in search of lucrative deals and fresh horizons. Life was good, and the money was rolling in.

But, a problem soon arose. The SF, as they were called, had an annoying habit of calling for us to drop our cargoes, and we staked everything on our reputation, Deliver or Die. After nearly half a dozen of us were lost to contraband patrols, we banded together again, and formed a company, an association of businessmen if you will. London Drugs, Incorporated. We started moving in packs, carrying bigger guns, and blowing up the competition before they knew we were coming. We control the contraband trade within Bretonia, no one else. I was elected Director of Sales, by unanimous vote and by that I mean I was fastest on the draw.

A low chuckle spread throught the room, as he stubbed his cigar on the table and stood.

There you have. My tale, as it is, and as it continues. Want some Synth?

OOC: So, I wanted to create a very RP heavy faction within Bretonia, to inspire hopefully some more recruitment among the SF, now that they have someone to police that runs around in dinky little freighters, and will ALWAYS have contraband on them. And to have a little more fun.

All members will be required to have at least one X-Shuttle Char. We will be using Bretonian, Liberty, Lane Hacker, Junker, Civilian, Zoner and Outcast or Corsair guns. Any Torpedo/Cruise Disruptor type weapons are allowed and Armor Kits up to Mark 5. Nuclear mines are to be carried on ALL vessels. Chainguns are authorized as well.

The ranks are as follows (in order)

Ruffina (recruit)
Smuggler (members)- X-Shuttle
Trafficker (senior members)- X-Shuttle (2 only)
Kingpin (Me, in command)- X-Shuttle, possible a small capship at some point

This will be an invite only faction, once basic recruitment has been completed. So, if you want in, apply by PM within a week, after that, you can ask, but it will depend on current strength. Noone in this faction except me will be revealing their forum ID, to make us even more anonymous.

We will be tagged as Junkers, and Carry Junker IDs. We reserve the right to demand cargo within New London, and outside that system if you are carrying Drugs/ Alien Bits. We may attack you without warning. But, we probably wont, unless you start interfering on our limited drug trading. If you are shooting at Junkers we may shoot at you, especially around Trafalgar base. If you want to hire us to do a little corporate sabotage, please contact me, we were Cryer hitmen before we got the shuttles, and we still remember how it works. We are not available as military hirelings, but we can provide drugs for your troops in the field. Any questions about the faction, please post them so that everyone can get the answer, but no flaming.

Why reserve the right to demand cargo in and around new london?

You can't buy the system, which is the only way to get the right to ask people to do things like that.

Otherwise it's a great background idea and story, I look forward to seeing more about this group.

OOC: Nice background, good idea and all... I guess that puts you alongside the other 8 unlawful factions that have been active in Bretonia (DJC, Marauder, Phantom, ELF, HF, TGF, RA, Helghast that I know of so far) :0/

How many SF do you think we have? Practically nobody plays lawfuls anymore because it's too challenging to constantly put themselves up against those odds. Another bunch of bandits in Bretonian space isn't going to change that.

HF aren't that much of pirates. They are more mercenary than pirate. And they are Lane Hackers with Vespucci, they can officially call themselves pirates of Bretonia. :P

Yeah, we need RM to get more active, so the pirates aren't just in Bretonia. Wraiths are the only pirates active in Rheinland right now.

(P.S. If its too much for the SF to handle, hire the AW.)

@marauder: Well, we demand cargo around NL because thats our base of operations, and although we cannot buy the system, we need to pirate something...

@Badger: Well, once i get this faction going, can i sing up as an SF gunboat? Those birds are fun to fly.

ooc: Thx for answering for our clan, Dab. BTW what it even an X-shuttle? never heard of it.

I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.
