Background

Anaïs Berengar is a gentle soul but she also has a strong conviction - joining the Maquisards was her obvious calling after what the nobles have done to her people. However she wasn't a fighter, didn't have it in her to command people into battle, her petite and gentle yet serious demeanor didn't lend itself to be a big propaganda figure. So she did what she could, and became a pilot of the Maquisard freighter she herself christened Orgueil.

This was her biggest success - on a resource raiding mission she piloted the freighter and a small Maquisard squadron near Planet Vienne in Languedoc when she and her fellow heroes scored paydirt. An EFL Vache transport with assorted valuable cargo strayed too far from it's escorts. It was seemingly an easy picking as the ship's crew strayed too far from it's escorts . Being the gentle soul that she is Anaïs persuaded the squad not to do what they often do, and they let the crew live, while ordering the EFL staff to jettison their cargo.

This turned out to lead to issues however as while the negotiations were going on and she tried to persuade fellow Maquisards that nobody has to die today the escorts have caught up the the EFL transport right after the valuable cargo was secured. Their numbers were adequate to the importance of the vessel, there was no chance to confront them directly. Her freighter fled while with only a couple fighters protecting it while the rest of the assault squadron scattered to distract the pursuers. Anaïs was desperate, the escorts that outnumbered her people targeted her ship, wanting to retreive what was stolen. Only with using all of her skills she manahed to flee all the way to the Lozere asteroid field. The chase was long and taxing, but eventually...she succeeded.

She let out a deep sight of relief when she saw them - her friends, the Unione Corse - a medium sized patrol providing a friendly hail, offering Anaïs respite, calming her clearly shaken voice and promising that they will take care of the crew and contact her fellow Maquisards at their base hidden nearby. Alcide Ghissoni, their leader, personally offered to lead the formation and take them towards their hidden base. His calm and inviting inquiry about Orgueil's cargo seemed like just a warm interest of an old friend, Anaïs told him everything and was greeted with heartfelt congratulations. And deeper into the asteroid field they went.

And deeper, far away from where anyone could see them they went. She didn't even realize her Corsican escorts started slowly moving behind her and her own escort ships. Before she realized what was happening it was too late - the ruthless Corsicans smelled an opportinity they couldn't pass on. Her old school Maquisard escorts, always jumpy and not as trusting as Anaïs managed to react on time, but her freighter's engines got disabled right away. All she had left is hear the panic of short-range communications as the battle for survival raged on, and the static hiss of the signal jammer that was suddenly disrupting any long-range communications.

She was just sitting there, in her drifting vessel, shell shocked, unable to move, knowing that this might be the end for her.

Rules
LF, HF and VHF sign up event.

One Freighter - Orgueil will be present. It will not take part in the standard combat and will have basic armor, but should the Corse side win, they will assault the freighter.
If they manage to shoot down the freighter as well they earn 200,000,000 credits, to be split in their team as they see fit.

Story
Maquis side participants agree not to pursue roleplay consequences against the Unione Corse participants due to where the fight is taking place.

The outcome and turnout will influence a possible retaliation event.

• Corse meets at Montelimar Base in Languedoc (3B bottom)
  
• Maquis meet at Limoux base (7E top left Languedoc)
  
• Fight takes place in the Lozere Asteroid Field, after escort roleplay is conducted and the treachery, played out.

Also I wanted to point out - a lot of Corse has HFs, Sirocco doesn't have great sell points - it's good you changed it to all fighters
