I suppose my apperance have caused quite the confusion for you, as you've expected to hear from the actual Guild authority, and not some resigned Guildmistress whose maintenance crew neglected their duties. But I am, nonetheless, able to shed some light and explain my invitation to Madeira to you.

I have taken over the post of the Guildmistress following the initial disarray within the Guild when the Aland Crisis commenced. It was a joint attempt of Crayter and Bretonia Armed Forces to take over the shipyard which they claimed to be vital for their survival, and any ways of reasoning with them and mediating the inevitable conflict have failed. Hastily formed coalition managed to route every Bretonian assault until Crayter Dreadnought, Olympia, was put in action and lost in the assault along with a solid majority of Bretonian attackers. But that wasn't enough to prevent the assailants from taking over our vital asset.

With the dust around it settling and both sides stitching their wounds we've settled for a truce - the fighting costed The Guild plenty, further conflict was not feasible and I had to return the Guild on more peaceful track. Madeira Upgrade Project was soon to follow, making it into another vital asset in the Omega, taking place of lost Aland Shipyard. You'll be welcomed by the local contingent of engineers with open arms.
