Access granted to: 66th forces, KNI operatives, Agent 'Onryo' of the KOI
Report author: "Tonbokiri"
Subject: Operation Nu
Starting date: 16.07.828
Last status update: 23.07.828
Status: In progress
Encryption: Extreme

Operation overview:

Operation Nu was commenced following a transmission by Agent 'Onryo' to the Naval Operations Headquarters, informing the NOH about skirmishes between the Liberty Navy and the Core in a newly discovered Omicron system. The visual and audio data Agent 'Onryo' received from the Auxesian source raised several concerns among the NOH and the 66th Special Expeditionary Battlegroup was ordered to dispatch a scout force.

The investigation surrounding the system of Omicron Nu and the circumstances of this skirmishes led to the following results so far:
  • Core forces claim to cooperate with Outcast forces solely against Nomad and Corsair forces. This is contradictory to the evidence delivered by the KOI's contact within the group known as Auxesia. Data of the Auxesian contact suggests the Core defended Outcast vessels as their allies against Liberty.
    [+]Core claims 001
[22.07.828 18:59:52] Force!WV-Lockdown: Dom: We only side with outcast to fight back the Nomad invasion.
[22.07.828 19:00:40] Samuel.Carter: I do know of a skirmish we had with the Corsairs, their numbers were overwhelming so the Outcasts assisted us.
[22.07.828 19:01:04] Force!WV-Lockdown: Dom: We didn't ask for Outcast help, they just show up and attack their enemies who are also ours.
    [+]Auxesian source 001
Core declares to protect Outcast vessels.
Core proceeds to attack any non-allied vessels. Implication of Outcasts as allies.
Conclusion: Further investigation required. A potential assistance of Malta cannot be tolerated. Priority: Very high

  • The Republic of Liberty and the Core share a claim on the system and found a peaceful solution resulting with Liberty's claim on the major points of interest of the system being undisputed by the Core. No actual evidence of a proper Core claim was found, the "Core side" of the system was populated by Zoners, no signs of Liberty activity were detected nearby, however very old Liberty warship wrecks were scattered around.
    [+]Core claims 002
[22.07.828 19:04:27] Force!WV-Lockdown: Dom: The libertorians were trespassing too close to our home, so we made a deal they not come back. And now we are no longer convinced they are trying to invade.

[22.07.828 19:04:53] Onryo|Aoi: Does The Core lay claim upon the newly-discovered system?
[22.07.828 19:05:17] Force!WV-Lockdown: Dom: For our part of it yes, the same part that the Liberty war Ships were trespassing on.
[22.07.828 19:05:47] Force!WV-Lockdown: Dom: We will not let Liberty expand into our territory, you all know liberty is greedy to lay what they can get their hands on.

[22.07.828 19:08:07] [KNF]Tonbokiri|66th: Interesting. So Liberty retreated from said system?
[22.07.828 19:08:24] Force!WV-Lockdown: Dom: Not retreated, but left our side of it alone.
Theory 1: Liberty has a stronghold in the system but is virtually unable to project its presence across the entire system due to reasons unknown.
Theory 2: Liberty virtually controls the system but leaves the Zoner population and the direct surroundings to themselves either due to an understanding with the Zoners, the Core or reasons unknown.

  • The Republic of Liberty has control over an inactive Nomad City.
    [+]Core claims 003 - Visuals
    [22.07.828 19:23:59] Onryo|Aoi: Anything more?
[22.07.828 19:24:24] Samuel.Carter: Yea, there is a Nomad City on the side of Liberty.
[22.07.828 19:24:28] [KNF]Tonbokiri|66th: A Zoner dock, remnants of Liberty warships.
[22.07.828 19:24:41] [KNF]Tonbokiri|66th: Well, you cannot really miss it.
    [22.07.828 19:24:41] Onryo|Aoi: And a Nomad City. Intriguing.
    [22.07.828 19:24:48] [KNF]Tonbokiri|66th: Hmh.
[22.07.828 19:24:59] Onryo|Aoi: Does Liberty exploit it, or do you not know such information?
[22.07.828 19:25:04] [KNF]Tonbokiri|66th: I think this explains their interest into this system.
[22.07.828 19:25:14] Samuel.Carter: No clue. But they could be.

    Visuals on the Nomad City.
    Conclusion: Further investigation required.
    Priority: Top priority
Precautious actions to be taken: Raising the combat readiness of the 2nd Home Fleet and the S-NGD from "Level 1: Peace times" to "Level 2: Intensified border surveillance".

  • The Republic of Liberty appears to have a jump gate connecting to Omicron Nu.
    [+]Core claims 004
[22.07.2021 19:09:13] Force!WV-Lockdown: Dom: Our side is the side that contains the Minor Jump Hole, their side is the Jumpgate to Virginia.
    [+]Auxesian visuals
Visuals of a jump gate like structure in the background.
Conclusion: Further investigation required. The nature of this seemingly new jump gate design needs to be clarified.
    Priority: High
