Our last communication, it seemed like you were interested in adding in a Rift-Jump Drive to your ship's arsenal. Right about now, my base's research wings have been completed and we are in need of a project to test our facility's production capabilities. My travels around Sirius have found that these sort of drives can only be operated by the bigger Capital-Class vessels and I can only assume where the Maltese engineers are at with their level of technology. Pretty high up is my guess. Maybe their smaller ships are capable of mounting a piece like this drive. If you could send a spec sheet of your vessel, I can run a check to know if a Rift-Jump Drive is compatible. If it is, then perhaps my base can take this task and hit two birds with one stone!
My Rift-Jump Drive research wing can go ahead and try to create a drive for your vessel as a test of their talents - and you are able to mount this drive at no charge! However, there'll be a string attached to this if you don't mind. Business is business, and I don't mean to betray the friendly terms we're both on. For now, I'll examine your vessels spec sheet and we can go from there.
PS. This string I've mentioned is something that I think will benefit you greatly when using the drive. I could understand being sceptical and on edge about this. Trust me with it. . .

Your assumptions are true - I am sceptical about all of this. It is not all about necessary power - it must compact enough to fit within such vessel and its existing cooling systems. How it will behave when the vessel is taking hits and its power fluctuates? How maintenance intensive it will be to keep it in running order?
Tuttavia, I am still interested in this little venture if your engineers will manage to solve all these issues I have mentioned above and I am willing to reward them handsomely.
But before I send non-classified specifications of my vessel - What are these 'strings' you are talking about, Signor Leon?

I had a feeling you might say that. Let me get into the strings so I may clear up what I mean.
I'll hand over the drive under one condition: You come to Starfliers for Rift-Jump Data. This will drive my business forward and in return you'll be getting the best hyperspacial information to use with the drive.
This is somewhat bad timing, as right now, all the pilots from Starfliers will be taking a few weeks to undergo some training - to use bigger and better vessels. This includes myself, Halpert and Rex. Throughout this time, we won't be able to service orders at all. I know I said that you may only come to us for this data, I apologize for now saying I cannot provide you with it. We have made an open broadcast stating we will be back soon. However, as a temporary compromise I am willing to give you access to my Hyperspacial Library on board Starflier Base while I'm away. This particular library has scans from almost every system in Sirius, albeit most if not all are old and inaccurate. Trust me when I say, use these Rift-Data scans at your own risk.
The research teams will carefully piece together your drive to make sure it performs to specifications. In my experience, The drive should just mount, and the power-core gets sapped once it starts charging. Maintenance on a smaller and more compact version of my own drive shouldn't be any issue. I'll tell my research teams to account for any cooling solutions that aren't well known. This should put you at ease a little bit more. Once you provide your vessel's spec sheet, it will doubly make sure the drive will be compatible. . .

I was expecting some restrictions of my operations, but your conditions are reasonable enough. As there is none else selling 'Rift' coordinates at this moment, I see no particular reasons why I should have issues with this - at least for now.
I am sending you the required specifications for your engineers. They should have everything needed - powerplant output, cooling capacity and volumetric space.
There is a small catch, however, as reserve cooling capacity is without any damage sustained and all systems operating at full capacity. Warships, unlike civilian ships, take hits in combat and cooling systems are the ones that are affected the most by combat damage and thus built with redundancy. It would be best, if said Jump Drive would produce as least heat as possible, or even had its own dedicated emergency cooling system.

Greetings, Fiorella. My name is Albert. I'm the science officer on board the NX-01 and I also co-manage the research teams on board Starflier Base.
Your concerns are noted when it comes to the cooling systems, space and power usage. Amalfi's specification schematics will prove to be useful for creating a virtual environment where we can test the drive before we finish assembling it. Such test environments will include but aren't limited to inside and outside battlezones, within nebulas and next to pieces of debris. Once we are satisfied with our findings, we will seal the unit and have it ready for pickup in the Kepler System. Leon has prepared an access code to Starflier Base's hyperspace library. I'll attach the code onto this transmission. If you have any other questions or queries, I will answer them.

You're not obliged to help in that way, Fiorella. I'll leave that decision up to you. Though if you were to send some financial support, any amount up to 50 million sounds reasonable? That will make sure the bots assembling the Reinforced Alloys stay in working order. Their task is meticulous, very repetitive, and especially critical in this kind of construction. You most likely have our accounts saved, due to the jobs Halpert has done for you. So I think it will be safe to send any support to the same account. Our simulations have concluded and the results have been compiled into a report below, as a way of transparency between us, Fiorella. I don't want you to equip yourself with a faulty Jump Drive.
Our simulations involving heavy mortar fire whilst the jump drive is in use had a handful of complications. Either the computing time was too slow or the mass of data itself was too much for our systems to record properly for that specific test. We managed to get it once, out of the thirty five we ran. Our research teams also took it upon themselves to research the Storta-class vessel you fly. We ran the checks for cooling, power-core use and spacial capacity and they all checked out with no errors or adjustments of any kind. If you're happy enough with the results, send me a message over the secure channel and we shall organise a time to get the Jump Drive installed inside the Amalfi.

Lavoro impressionante. You did much quicker than I expected. As I read your test results - you are far below significant 5% failure rate, and even below 2.5% - contrary to my initial expectations. Me and my engineers evaluated these preliminary simulations as acceptable and we can begin installing this drive to my vessel.
I hope that you have proper instruction manual and service schematics drawn out for it, so my computer and crew can be instructed how to provide recommended maintenance and repairs, along with some decent number of spare parts.
The only question remains - do you have necessary facilities at your disposal for this kind of work? While Amalfi is not as big as your NX-01 - installation of such jumpdrive to destroyer is still beyond simple EVA tasks.
