Famine-Ridden Planet Metz finds unlikely saviours!

Andre Aubin

A massive bombshell of a scoop is about to be revealed to those that still believe in the baseless and manipulative Gallic Union propaganda. The failing genodical dictatorship keeps attempting to inject xenophobia into the populace, painting most Sirians as evil and uninterested in Gallia. They have even called the Front de Libération de Gallia, the heroes and friends of the Gallic people, terrorists, baffling many pundits.

Today our Metz correspondent has uncovered the real way things are. Wide-spread famine has been plaguing the planet ever since the Kusari Invasion. Instead of making feeding the people of Lorraine their priority, the Union military state has been funelling all resources into producing new warships and military supplies, in order to fulfill the genocidal megalomaniacal plans of it's ex-Royalist war criminal leaders in as short of a timescale as possible.

The Front de Libération de Gallia, in an unprecedented move has not sat idly by. The benevolent Front has, at great expense, hired companies from Sirius.

These two companies, the Conestellation Express and Harlain Freight have supplied Lorraine with a total whopping 90,000 Tonnes of produce to Planet Metz on the Maquisards' behalf.

We have managed to get exclusive interviews with the representatives of both respective companies.

Bill Wagner, owner of Constellation Express quipped: "I am shocked and appalled by the needs of the people of Metz! Basic necessity's such as food, water, clothing, and even heating, is something of a daily struggle to these people. I have personally looked at my own amenities that I have taken for granted and gained a new appreciation for them.".

Diana McIntyre, from the Harlan Freight Co. Logistics department observed: "The Metz inhabitants are certainly more well-mannered than the government officials, despite living in much more grave, and in the case of Metz natives, at times even squalid and pitiful conditions."
At the same time as the massive amounts of supplies started appearing, Lorraine was strangely flooded with a rain of pamphlets from unknown sources, inviting the people of Lorraine and Metz to leave the Gallic Union behind and become independent - a call that is beginning to gain widesread traction in the system.

We have reached out to Chantal De Marais the, for a brief time, a noblewoman and now a freedom fighter to chime in: "I have been poor, and I have lived in luxury. I have been a commoner and I have tasted the life of a noble. Lorraine might be the former bedrock of nobility, but their people are just that - people, and this is how the Maquisards see them. The populace is disillusioned, they are waking up to the stark reality that the new military state cares about them even less than the Baronesses and Seigneurs that saw them merely as tools, as subjects. This crisis where people would starve to death if it weren't for the so called "terrorist" and Sirian intervention will open the eyes of the masses, it will no doubt lead them to the only rational path their planet and system can take: Becoming an independent entity, free of the Union hand over fist dictatorship that cares more about their warships than feeding their children. "

The pressure is mounting, the next few following months will be crucial for Metz and Lorraine as the powerful wave of calls for independence from The Gallic Union is sweeping the system. The Maquisard Front has not made it's position publicly clear yet, and some bizzare rumors are emerging that it is the very same Maquisards that paid Sirians to feed Metz that are also shooting down food supply transports heading from the Gallic Union. We at LGNS believe those to be just unsubstantiated constructs of the biased Union propagandists however.
