This message is intended for all 5th fleet officers.
The rebuilding efforts after the Gallic war go well. More and more new ships are being launched from slipways throughout Liberty. However, all positives always come with a negative.
Although our fleet is as strong as ever in hulls. We lack the officers to command these craft into battle. Therefore there has been a review of current fleet orders.
The requirements to command a vessel will remain the same. However, it has been decided that lower ranked officers will be given permission to command a capital craft without a Commanding officer being present in times of emergency.
Any officer wishing to be considered for these postings must complete the following:
1. A detailed application of why they are suited to this duty
2. Attend extended Capital maneuvering and tactics training at one of the academies
3. Complete a supervised patrol under the command of a training Captain
Please note, that any actions which bring the fleet or yourself into disrepute will be grounds for disciplinary action, demotion and potential removal of capital command rights.
Approval will be at the discretion of the line officers and each application will be reviewed on a case by case basis. If an officer is declined they may apply again in two months.
