Lorraine in open revolt!
Jaques Dantes
After entire year of neglect, the people of Planet Metz have had enough. Protests of the former commoners have errupted planet - wide. The fact that it was the vilified Sirians, not the Gallic Union that worked hard at feeding the populace did not go unnoticed.
Outrage has roared across the planet as Max Tijdens, praefect of Bellecroix de Metz has begun acting like a power hungry emperor, and proclaimed himself the de-facto ruler of the planet, proclaiming he "speaks for the people", silencing the voices of the commoners. The marginalized members of society, who cannot vote or call themselves Citizens unless they served for three years in the brutal Gallic Union military machine are the most vocal proponents of larger autonomy or even complete independence from the Union.
Fuelling these calls, hundreds of thousands of tonnes of food supplies have started flowing to planet Metz from Bretonia that provided a temporary halt on their embargo, proving to the people of Lorraine that they in fact do not need to rely on the Gallic Union for survival, with the pro-Sirian propaganda riddled supplies being distributed by an unknown party planet-wide. We have it on good authority that Gallic Union that has been so far focused on re-arming, repairing and modernising their invasion capable warship armada and ignored the Metz famine has finally out of necessity decided to send food supplies to the Famine ridden Metz to try to soften the revolting population's resolve and hatred.
A race has begun in effect, between the Sirian supply effort that supports the revolting part of the populace and entices them to further action with the propaganda, and the Union food haulers that supply their side and attempt to prove that staying with the Union is in Lorraine's best interest.
While this has been going on, fighting has errupted throughout the entire system. The heroic Maquisards have begun strikes against the Venissieux battlegroup, making space for the Sirian haulers, supporting the revolting populace and trying their best to halt off the pouring Union reinforcements from the rest of Gallic space. Brutal battles for freedom and survival are expected to escalate in the following days, to decide the fate of Metz and the Lorraine system.
A further complication to all sides has started unravelling - the so far largely silent Outcasts have used the distraction of the local factions to make their mark on the system, opportunistically striking and weakening both sides of the conflict to cause further chaos to make space for their cardamine runners and weaken the local fierce opposition from both the Maquisard and Union Forces.
What will happen? Who will come out victorious? Can the Gallic haulers match the Sirians? Will Lorraine gain their independence? Stay tuned to LGNS, your no-spin zone and the only unbiased news source in Gallia!

And so the yellow tabloid reads the critique. How quaint! Nevertheless, all they can do is resort to ad hominem conveniently ignoring the arguments raised by my humble speech. This does not give you credit, only further solidifies your image of ignorant retards. Nevertheless, I have to say "merci" for now we know exactly who is behind all this charade - the pathetic Maquisards.
I might not be speaking on behalf of all people of Lorraine yet I do convey the will of those who have put their trust in me as a praefect. And I haven't heard of any other praefects mentioning any revolts or public disobedience either. But why do I even have to bother convincing anyone that all these rumours about Lorraine going "rogue" to be false when this very "news source" does it well themselves? The "brave" SIrian haulers praised here so much are non-existent: Sirius itself declared an embargo on Gallia, preventing the traffic. Or are those "bravehearts" criminals not only in Gallia by breaching the laws of Gallia forbidding the entrance without a visa, but also their domestic laws? If those unicorn traders existed, I bet they would fit the company of the Maquisards perfectly: the rag-tag criminals wanted both at home and abroad with defunct brain cells to think for themselves.
P.S. Maquis "propaganda". Have you even seen it? I have. Looks crude enough to be confused with paintings in the cave during the prehistoric era. Poor quality extends to the meaning conveyed too - bleak standard call to action without clever wordplay so usual to the Gallic propaganda either of the republicans or the royalists. At least it can serve well as toilet paper.
