I recently got back into Freelancer and always end up coming back to play Discovery. Back in the day I used to spend most of my time playing on the USA server due to having lower ping (I'm in the US) and because I am not very good at/nor super interested in Roleplaying, definitely don't have anything against it but just never have been too interested in it, have a question about my required? involvement in it if required at all.
I am however very strict in my life with following rules/laws and therefore would apply that to this server. My issue is that due to me not being terribly interested in RP am I going to find myself getting into trouble with the server if I am not willing to stop to chat with people who stop and start typing RP to me? I am always polite and say hello back or whatever but don't stop to have a RP chat with them as I just am not super interested in that...
You might ask me why I don't just play on a private server or solo play and it is because I do like gaming with other people in a multiplayer environment and likely will eventually get into some RP and PVP but just want to make sure that I'm not going to get myself into trouble with rules or something if I am not getting involved with RP when mining/trading and such? Or if I'm out doing PVE in missions or battlezones and such and someone comes along and wants to have a RP chat with me do I have to go along with it?
Sorry for the long post and question, hopefully it makes sense. Like I said I just want to abide by the rules but also love the server and this mod is awesome and has a lot of fun gameplay features I enjoy!
Quote:Discovery Freelancer 24/7 RP is a roleplaying server. Roleplay is mandatory on the game server and in roleplay sections of the forum. Roleplay is taking on the persona of a character and acting or responding in the way the character would.
The moment you put Launch to Space, you are in a multiplayer and roleplaying environment; people will generally approach to you in that way and it is expected that you interact inRP accordingly (Except in Connecticut, of course).

Technically you don't have to have long conversations, you can just say that you can't stop to talk. Although pirates most definitely require talking to.
Start off small, rp doesn't require you to write an entire novel or biography for simple interactions. I suppose Imagine as if you were in a rpg with interactive npcs.
If you get stopped by people, you're gonna have to reply or they might shoot you for disobedience
