Ships Stolen from Orbital Mothball Yard
Sunshine Mothball Yard - Cortez:
Orbital Spa and Cruise offers the best Services and Experiences on their Liners, but even those Magnificent Ships have a Lifespan that haves to end one day. For those that might be Used in Later times or can be used for Spareparts, there is the Sunshine Mothball Yard in Cortez. This Yard houses a Wide Variety of Ships that are to good for the Scrapyards but not good enough for the Passenger Service. From Small "CST-010 "Dorado" OSC Ferrys" to "L-584 "Enterprise" Luxury Liners" can be anything Found in this Remote Corner of the Cortez System. The Ships there are Prepared for long Periods of Storage and then Permanently Anchored and Secured by the Workers of the Mothball Yard.
But Today the Usual Quiet Days on the Sunshine Mothball Yard were Disturbed by Intruders. During the Shift Change of the Workers, some Thiefs have Sneaked in with the workers and managed to Steal 4 Liners that had Just Arrived at the Mothball Yard, the Liners were still Partially Fueled and had a Standard Safety Equipment of Shields and Low-Grade Armor Mounted. Originally it was Planed that these Liners would be Mothballed during the Next few Weeks and then Stored to be used for Spareparts for the Current Orbital Fleets.
The Chairwoman of OS&C Made the Following Coment as we from the OS&C News asked her for a Statement. "We will not tolerate that someone Steals Orbitals Property and we will Investigate this Case to its Fullest Depths. For now, we have Increased the Security at the Sunshine Mothball Yard and will Improve the Security Matters there even further in the future." Chairwoman Cross told us that if the Thiefs have Disapered with only Litle Traces of their Course or Destinations. The 4 Liners had Served for 60 Years Each in the Orbital Fleet and Saw many of the Wonders that Sirius have to offer during that time. Countless Citizens of the 4 Great Houses had spent their holidays on these ships or used them to Reach a new Destination in the Journey of their lives with them.
"But in their current state, the Liners should not be able to Operate for any longer periods of time without Massive Repairs and Upkeeping by the Thiefs". Said the Chairwoman Further to us. For this News Agency, it's hard to understand what the Thiefs could want with such old Ships. But the Lawyers of OS&C have already begun to file Legal Actions against the Unknown Thiefs as well as to File for Compensation from Orbitals Insurance Company, and Spa-Sec the Security Department of OS&C has begun its investigations. For now, the Mystery of this Crime will remain in the Shadows of Speculations. But as we heard there are already some Rumors about the Movie Industry that is Interested to use this Incident as a Basis for their Next big Heist Movie.

Orbital Spa and Cruise Announced today the Plans for the Refit and Modernisation of the Luxury Liner Maldives. The Liner Maldived is Orbital´s Flagship in Kusarian Space and a Sistership of the Luxury Liner Hawaii. The liner was Stationed in Kyushu around 828 AS as a Luxury Destination inside of Kusari to Relieve her Sister the Liner Hawaii from High Demand. It quickly became one of the most popular destinations for Bretonians and even Guests from Liberty who wanted a little variety from the usual Destination of the Liner Hawaii. And even Kusarian Guests enjoyed their time on the Maldives as the ship offered a Budget Friendly Holiday option for those who didn't want to stray too far from their homes. On top of that, it also became a Popular Destination for Business Meetings between Kusarian and Foreign Companies. Now after years of Glorious Service for Orbital Spa and Cruise the Beloved Maldives Gets some Overhaul.
Plans for the Overhaul are to use the Space of the Liner more Efficiently and to allow for a bigger Variety of Storage Space and of Course Luxuries for the Guests. Orbital Announced that they will Work together with the Kusarian Liner Experts at the Tsukishima Liner Yards in Shikoku. The Experts at Tsukushima have proven their Skills and an Eye for Detail in the past when it came to Luxury and Elegance. Currently, the Designers of Orbital and Tsukisihima are Working together on the New Interior Concept for the Maldives. While the Engineers work together on the Upgrades for the Liners systems and the Upgrade for the powerplant so that they have enough Energy for all the wonderful ideas of the Designers.
Sadly that means that one of the most popular Destinations will now no longer be available for as long as the Maldives is in the Drydock of Tsukisihima. But Orbital already has some Plans on what to do to compensate for the Passenger Demands at the Kusarian Market. Other Liners will Divert from their usual Routes and will Incorporate Kusari into their Routes. And Orbital Bought a Hotel on the Surface of Kuyushu that will be Renovated and Finished before the Maldives goes into Drydock. Should the Plan work out as intended then the Maldives should Return to her Natural Place at Kyushu Orbit within 3 to 6 Months. The Journalists of Orbital Spa and Cruise News have gone to a lot of Exotic and sometimes Dangerous Places over the years to bring the best and most authentic stories to you, our dear Readers. But sometimes the Best stories are not far away in distant Star Systems, sometimes they are just on your doorstep. And this, Dear Readers, is such a Story, a Tale of Heroism and dark Forces that try to ruin our lives. This story comes out of the Dublin System, a Wild Frontier that is shaken by the fight of its people for independence. A system with never-ending riches and dangerous and mysterious fields that can hold either a Fortune or total Doom for those who are brave enough to enter them. For decades, the Gold of Dublin stabilized the Bretonian economy and kept the house from bankruptcy. These riches are not only sought in Bretonia, but also the corsairs are after the gold of Dublin. For what the Raiders from the Omicrons need the gold of Dublin is beyond this simple writer's Knowledge.
The hearo of today's tale is called Jock Stewart a Simple man from the Edinburgh System that sought his fortune in the Gold Fields of Dublin like so many before him. Mister Steward was the captain of an Archon Class Modular Miner and a Seasoned Veteran of the Gold Fields. A Captain who was well-loved by his Crew and the Company he worked for. Recently, he had dared to take the step and started his own little gold Mining Company and was his own boss. A Decision that, as friends of Mr. Steward told us, was something that he was very happy about. Even though he had walked away from his old employer, he would still frequently help his old friends when they were in trouble. There are countless tales of when he came to the rescue of a fellow miner who was under attack by the Mollies or the Corsairs. But as all miners in the Dublin Gold Fields know, one day your luck runs out. On these days, you either fight for your Life, or your Ship becomes one of the many countless wrecks that drift in the Dublin System.
For Jock Stewart this day came yesterday. The day for him had started like many others, and he went out into the fields for another load of gold and another paycheck. While it all had started like a normal, boring day of mining, this soon changed as the Corsairs showed up and demanded some gold. The Dublin Miners are as resilient as their ships, and they do not take it lightly when someone tries to take the gold. Together, they fought them off and destroyed some of the Corsair ships. But then, as they already thought they had won the day and the small miner fleet wanted to set course for home, the unthinkable happened, and the Nomads Attacked. The Stories of the Surviving Miners vary on the Numbers and the Types of nomadic creatures attacking. Some Speak of a Whole fleet, others of just a couple of vessels. But what was clear from all eyewitness reports that our Journalists gathered was that the miners were completely outclassed.
Already damaged from the previous fight against the corsairs, they had little that they could do against the Nomad threat. How these Creatures managed to slip out of the Omicrons and deep into Bretonian Space is a Mystery in itself. But there they were, and the Nomads were not there for Gold. They wanted blood, and the Exausted Miners were their target. The fleet fought as best as they could, but it was soon clear that they would not be able to beat the nomads. This was when Captain Stewart made his decision. He ordered his crew to abandon ship and sent a comm to the remaining Corsair forces in the system and pleaded for help against the nomads. He knew that something had to happen or they all would die on this day. While the other Mining Ships rescued his Crew, Captain Stewart removed the Security Limiters from the ship's Reactor and set it onto a Collision Course with the Largest Nomad vessel. He knew that he had to stay on board to aim the ship and to make sure it would hit the creature. We can only speculate that his Last thoughts were with his family as his ship rammed the Nomad Vessel and engulfed it in a Huge Explosion as he and the Ship died together with the Creature.
This action, together with the Corairs that had joined the fight against the Nomad Monsters, gave the Mining Fleet enough time to flee. And call for help from the Bretonian Armed Forces. Together they destroyed the Nomad Threat and made the Dublin System at least for some Hours a bit safer. The last thing Captain Stewart Experienced was the cooperation of Bretonian and Corsair forces to deal with the Arch Enemy of Humanity.
