A journey to the edge of Sirius

Since the end of June, the Unit-9476F has been never seen again. It was as if it mysteriously vanished. Without a notice. Last time it was seen was within the Omicrons. The unit left its kind behind with their allies in search of something. Something that might be the key to reach an evolution unseen within Sirius. An evolution that would inspire fear to Humankind and something bigger.

The journey started from Omicron Kappa, the last exact area where the unit was. The speed cruise was on normal thrust. It was normal that during the first hours a patrol of Corsair or Order or even Core spotted the cruiser and attempted to destroy it. Unlucky for them, the unit exterminated them as if they were flies. Not a big surprise if it was a squadron of fighters. But when it was a bomber squadron, it was a bit risky but again not enough to scratch the hull. Luckily for the artificial intelligence, no cruisers came.

It took two weeks to leave the known systems. During those weeks, the unit met some patrols of Order and Core and like always the human ships were not matched. In the first week, the unit discovered a gravitational anomaly. A jumphole. It was not stable but Unit-9476F took the risk and jumped to an unknown system. It was probably an uncharted system not discovered. The unit launched scans and nothing spiked the sensors. Still on a normal thrust, the cruiser would analyze anything on sight. But the system where it was, was completely lifeless. No planets and no stations. Only a yellowish star and a large nebula approximately 400 klicks from its position. The nebula appeared to be yellowish as well. Maybe due to the star’s rays hitting some particles of gas making this reaction.

After days of flight, the cruiser reached the nebula in question. It entered inside of it and massive radiation has been detected. Since Unit-9476F is an artificial being, it does not affect him. The ship itself was immune to those radiations. After all, the planet Gammu is irradiated because of the red dwarf within Omicron Kappa. The unit stopped moving and decided to be on standby before continuing flying. It needed to analyze the substances within the nebula.
