Well I've tried everything.
I like my engine trails on, so after every update, I re-activate the mod.

However, when I deactivated Beta 4 to reactivate engine trails, I get this:

Quote:Error: FLMM has determined that 'Discovery Mod v4.85 beta 4' won't properly activate.
Error: Unable to find dest 'ids_info = 66080' in 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\data\universe\systems\Li04\Li04.ini'

HALP!

Also: is there a file I can manually edit to turn on engine trails/spinning planets?
It's a major pain re-activating the mod after every update... -.-

You won't like this, but I'd suggest re-installing.

I've had the same problem - I think this is related to spinning planets not engines. Other people have reported that they work for them (with this update). I'm not sure what causes it and I didn't have time to look so in my case I re-installed the mod and gave up on spinning planets.

Unfortunately there's no single file to manually re-enable these options. The updater functionality is a trade off as we wanted to retain the use of FLMM and allow people to do manual updates (by unzipping the update). The end result is that the updater can't re-apply change FLMM options after an update. It's a pain.

I mean, it works just fine if I delete the whole mod, unzip it into FLMM, and use the updater. However, when I try to deactivate it to enable engine trails, that error shoes up.

It worked for update 1... I guess I'll wait for #3.

Or, reinstall. It won't take a few minutes, then you're all fine and dandy.
