Recent reports of increased outlaw activity in the Omegas has resulted in increased scrutiny of local assets which are meant to safeguard trade routes. The Elbe Border Fortress, constructed with the partial goal of keeping an eye on the IMG, can also serve as a staging point for scout and escort vessels, as well as a safe haven for transport vessels seeking shelter. In order to guarantee Elbe's ongoing role of guarding the dangerous Omega-7 system, additional resources have been requested. In cooperation with the Imperial Police administration, the Kaiserliche Rheinwehr pledged to ensure the continuation of the high level of military and defensive capabilities of the station. An ongoing resupply contract has been awarded to both Kruger Mineralen and Daumann Heavy Construction, as well as any independent vessels looking to make a profit while assisting the Empire.


Convoy Route & Disposition

The convoy will gather at Planet New Berlin and proceed to the Elbe Border Fortress using standard routes.
The escort force strength follows a rough rule of thumb:
  • 1 snub per 2k units of cargo
  • 1 Oder per 10k units of cargo
  • 1 Donau per 15k units of cargo)
More snubs are welcome if people are interested, but try stick to these for the larger ships so that we're not "top-heavy". This is not meant as a hard requirement, just a guideline for escort strength.
Highest ranked officer takes command. It is recommended that the merchant vessels appoint a representative to coordinate with the escort commander.


Currently required commodities
  • 1000 Crew
  • 7000 Synth Paste
  • 7000 Water
  • 7000 Oxygen
  • 10000 H-Fuel
  • 10000 Hull Segments
  • 10000 Reinforced Alloys completed
  • 10000 Robotic Hardware
All DHC and Kruger merchants will be compensated at a rate of 4000SC per unit of cargo. All other vessels are compensated at a rate of 3000SC per unit of cargo. In the case of attack, hazard pay will be distributed to each vessel, equaling 15% of the total value of the convoy's cargo (e.g. 15000 units of cargo carried by Kruger transports results in 9 mil SC to each transport).


Date & Time of the event
This is meant to be a recurring event. Therefore, the date and time of each convoy will remain fluid. To facilitate organization, I will be posting when2meet schedules for the upcoming week so that people are able to see roughly when others are available.

Rules
  • The convoy cannot leave unless there's at least one escort ship present.
  • If you are the escort commander, document your route and the composition of the convoy, as well as any notable events. Feel free to use the following template (copy and paste the bottom block of text including the tr /tr to add more ship slots to the table):

  • If you are the convoy captain, document the purchase & sale of the commodities. Provide infocard screenshots of all transports and their cargo near New Berlin, and later near Elbe.
  • Stick to the trade lanes and jump gates.
  • For pirates and enemy warships - I don't want to teach grandma to suck eggs, but as a general rule of thumb: if you are a pirate, you want to force a ship away from a convoy and then have it jettison its cargo and/or pay you a "shipping fee", then let it go; if you are a warship, you want to engage the escorts and destroy the transports for carrying wartime materiel.

The rates per cargo unit and hazard pay have been updated to be more lucrative.

The first convoy was a milk run, delivering 10k units of Reinforced Alloy without incident.
