Hello all together,

First of all I would like to say that I don't know if there has ever been anything like this or if anything like this has ever been proposed before. (I assume that it has been proposed before, but I have not found anything about it).

Soo, the idea of the generators is to increase some values of a ship or to weaken others.

Example 1: The generator increases the shield strength and regeneration by X value but reduces the available power for the weapons by X value.
Example 2 : The generator boosts the weapons or increases the power of the ship, but reduces the speed.

Of course you could use all possible values.
But I think it would make the most sense to influence the shields, the weapons, the speed of the ships.

For example, if you have a battleship that can withstand more than another, it could direct the fire at itself and thus allow the ship, which can't withstand so much, to do damage.

Since we already have improvements for armor, and if I remember correctly also for some shields, I think that this change can influence the outcome of especially in big fights with many ships.

I also suggest that the generators be built at PoBs.
So that not everyone immediately flies around with it and it takes work to get one.
Also, you could then not every time change the generator but would have to build another which then increases / weakens other values.

Since I think that there was such a proposal before and we do not have it until today, the idea was probably not quite as welcome.
But maybe we could discuss something like that again.

It's a matter of balance, it's hard to balance existing ships with their fixed values and this would only add to the already overwhelming workload.

In short, I believe it could be done, if the devs had more than one man who understands balance and split the work. It is very unlikely it will ever be done, though.

Also, not sure the powercore can be changed dynamically as they are not currently visible in the equipment screen.
