The Hogosha have ensured that the complex relationships and connections involved between themselves and officialdom would make any serious attempt to dismantle their organization almost impossible. Who knows secrets and deals with revered public bodies and individuals that until now had been out of the public eye might come to light in any such attempt?
On the other hand, the Hogosha do not have a free license to operate. Arrests of low-level Hogosha operators who flaunt their activities are frequent and help to keep up appearances with the public -- very important in Kusari. The Hogosha accept these low-level losses in order to maintain their core business and ensure that key members of the organization are never ensnared. "Hard" crime, such as drug smuggling, is not tolerated.
Individual opinions vary, but most police consider the Hogosha a necessary evil required for the smooth functioning of Kusari society. The government simply treats the Hogosha like any other large keiretsu, and the Kusari population as a whole has a similar attitude: It is pointless to like or dislike the Hogosha; they are simply a fact of life. The Hogosha handle Artifact and gun smuggling and the fencing of stolen goods. They also do occasional dirty work for Samura and will engage in limited covert activities with the Corsairs for the benefit of Kusari.
Lore - 伝承
Following the end of Kusari's first war with Gallia, chaos ensued in the once "great" house. The Empire that had been revered for years was lost, and was replaced with a regime dictated not by its people but by foreigners. Consequently, many who once held great influence in Kusari began to erode and fade away in the face of such a great change. The Hogosha - Kusari's necessary evil - were one of these many.
Where power & influence begin to vacuum, however, opportunities arise in their places. One individual saw the sinister opportunities arise as his house appeared to be in peril; with his own interests in mind, he abandoned his former life in the pursuit of adventure and pleasure - on his own terms.
Neither his name nor his history are known to anyone, and with wits as great as his elders, he quickly seized a place in the "necessary evil" of Kusari. It was a comfortable seat for years - women, money, adventure, an endless supply of every mans dream. But just as change created one vacuum for this enigma, another has presented itself.
Kusari has yet again undergone change, and with no foreign regime to stand in its way, the Empire has returned stronger than ever. Samura and Kishiro alike have slowly begun to return to their former glory, and thus, the opportunity to have more than ever has presented itself.
He calls himself "Yamato", and though he has no known merit to his name, he seems confident enough to try and carve out his own piece of Kusari's "necessary evil". His intentions paint a picture that every true Kusarian can admire; and by extension - every member of Hogosha.

Hello! This is my brand new faction! My name here on the forums is @Wesker. I've been playing a long time, and this is one of a few factions I've wanted to start something from scratch with. My aim with this faction is to start it from nothing, hence the lore goes over the background of a person more than Hogosha itself, what will become of this faction long term I have yet to see. I hopefully will take a stab at officialdom with this as it progresses.
I will NOT be ninjaing people in; if you want to join, you NEED TO APPLY. I have led several factions that I am more relaxed about, but with the influx of players I've seen recently, I want to start something that raises the standard or something to show others what a standard risen would look like. If you apply, please do so with the intention of partaking in both the roleplay and combat aspects of the game. BOTH not one or the other.
