It's been a long time since I've contacted anyone on this frequency, but I wanted to formally reach out and make Command aware that repair and retrofit of the LNS Bunker Hill has been successfully completed, after spending several years in drydock following it's withdrawal from Operation Royal Flush, and as such, I have returned to my duties as a commissioned Captain with the Liberty Navy Reserve forces. I'm not currently seeking to transfer into any of the main fleet structures at this time, but I look forward to resuming my duties and aiding the Navy in my capacity as a Reservist going forward.

It's been a while since I wore the blue uniform, but I'm glad to be doing it again, and in a role that's much less chaotic than being a member of the Primary Fleet Admiralty as in the past...[she trails off, laughing quietly for a moment]. Sorry, I just always felt more suited to the duties of a Field Grade, you know? But I digress. My overall point is that the Defiant-class gunboat LNS Bunker Hill, and her crew, are currently posted in the New York System, and stand ready and able to redeploy to new areas of operation as needed.

I have nothing further to report.

Greetings Captain Baker,

I am Commodore Christopher Edwards of the Forty-Sixth Fleet and Advisor aboard the Akhetaten. As someone who had retired from the Navy for the last two years and is, much like yourself, a returning officer it brings me great happiness to be receiving such a transmission on my terminal. To clarify, the Akhetaten is the flagship of Vice Admiral Maria Uhmen; she was the one who specifically received this transmission, but it was forwarded to me to be dealt with in due time due to her being busy with other duties.

I welcome back into active service, Captain Baker, and I look forward into operating alongside you and your crew. I hope that your re-integration to the Navy's ranks is smooth and without bumps, and I'd like to let you know that myself, the Akhetaten and the Forty-Sixth Fleet in it's entirety will be available to you for any help you may require.

Last but certainly not least, I'd like to point you to our internal channel for the purposes of receiving and sending out emergency pings on a frequency that's commonly used by us and other officers of the Navy.

Feel free to reach out regarding anything you may need, Captain. Welcome back.

With all due respect.

Old timer,

By god, "few years?!" You know, it does feel like yesterday, but the assault on Oubli we called Operation Royal Flush Royal took place well over EIGHT YEARS AGO!

I must say, at first, your communication raised some eyebrows - who the hell comes back after eight whole years like nothing happened? I actually had the Office of Naval Intelligence run a security check on you - I am sure you will understand. The last record on file is you contacting the Liberty Forces, wanting to help from your new-found Bounty Hunter role.

So, now you are back, back to serving Liberty directly instead of seeking the life of a mercenary. Well, I am glad, and I believe you made the right choice. I'd like to hear the story of how you made it, and why you left in the first place to tell you the truth.

As to where you are needed:

Currently, we are trying to hunt down the Insurgency remnants - or what you probably remember as the Hellfire Legion. They mostly fled, some like the Legion Batlecruiser Angel crew surrendered, but there is still some work to do to finish the job in Vespucci if you are interested. We are also engaged in Coronado, and Omicron Nu, and are trying to sniff out foreign Zoner warmongers who tried to poison Pennsylvania and have the same domestic hoodlums threatening stability and trying to smuggle all kinds of contraband you probably remember. So take your pick where you think you might be useful.

Firstly, Commodore Edwards, I want to thank you for your warm regards, I look forward to working together in the future.

Secondly, Admiral Van Leer, to put it briefly, it's a long -- and mostly private, story, but I'll shed some light, of course. I definitely wouldn't say it's "like nothing happened", It's just...been a time, you know? You might be aware that I was quite seriously wounded while leading Marines during ground combat on Leeds. After being evacuated from the front and returned to a Naval Medical Center on Manhattan, I was eventually, and not for the first time, [she laughs softly] medically discharged from the Navy. However, I didn't fight it that time like I had when I was injured and nearly crippled, during my time as Fleet Admiral of the Primary Fleet, when the first LNS Anchorage was destroyed in the Magellan system. No, after Royal Flush, I accepted my discharge and spent a time utilizing my skillset elsewhere -- a mistake, in retrospect, but not one that I'm comfortable getting into.

Eventually, I remembered myself, who I am, what I really stand for, and so, I've been back in Liberty since about 827, mostly living life as a private citizen, but well, that's really just not in my nature. So, once I squared myself away, I paid a visit to my local Naval Recruitment & Retention Center, signed some waivers, and re-entered the Reserves as a Captain, the paygrade I had previously accepted from the Primary Fleet after I rejoined the first time.

So, respectfully, I hope that answers any questions you have, and puts any concerns to rest, and I look forward to serving with you and yours going forward.

Rachel A. Baker
Captain, Liberty Navy (Reserves).

Officer,

That does make sense, and you have alleviated my concerns. The Navy was different in your time - now, inclusivity is an important value for us. We have many disabled in-field officers who are given the chance to serve Liberty as enlisted clerks and support staff - there is a place for those willing, and I am glad you found yours again.

We look forward to seeing Bunker Hill around, feel free to contact us if you will be in need of further modernisation or retrofits.

Admiral,

By god, ADMIRAL!

Once again congratulations, from the Office of Naval Intelligence raising eyebrows at your Bounty Hunter past and returning after such a long absence, to an Admiral of The Primary Fleet. What past three years you must have had - I only hope my words had some impact! There is something special about serving Liberty isn't there, I told you it was the right call.

Well, think of it, now you actually have the last word when we meet in the field regarding Law Enforcement! And I assume you have built the positions you held before your medical leave! I must say, during Royal Flush I was a mere Lieutenant Commander, it somehow feels right to have old timers like you calling the shots in Liberty..again.

What a comeback story - I am sure we will meet each other in the field, our Armada has a lot of exciting projects we would love to cooperate on with the Primary Fleets, I am sure there will be plenty of opportunities - something tells me this time you are back for good.

Regards,
Blake Wayne Van Leer - Admiral of the Armada - 1st Armada
