Guys, I need a little bit of information regarding the how well the updater works - or doesn't work.

If you answered no, could you please post in this thread indicating what O/S you use and what you think fails. Different types of failure could include:
- It downloads the update but displays some sort of error message about being unable to extract the update file.
- It installs the update but FL doesn't launch or launches but has the wrong version.
Any information would be appreciated.

If you have problems and are prepared to be a tester then post and say "I want to be a tester"

And I actually use both Vista and XP......XP on my desk-top,and Vista on my Laptop.
The only problem I encountered was when my router "hiccupped" about 20% of the way into updating one time, and I just had to reboot, cause the updater wouldnt work untill I did...kept giving me an error message, but I do not remember what it said. And that was on the desk-top with XP.

The Updater so far has worked very well for every new release so far, but with one minor hiccup. After the Updater is done and the Main Menu screen comes up, my mouse inputs freeze up and lock in the top, left corner. The issue is always quickly resolved with a few minimizes and a couple ctrl-alt-del button mashing. Then again it could only be my computer and not even Updater related, it just only happens when the updated main menu comes up.

Voted: Yes - I use Windows XP

Thus far, no problems on XP.

No problems here. I have no complaints whatsoever, except maybe long download times (several minutes), but that's not the fault of the updater.

I think it's a great tool that is vastly superior to manually updating, especially where there's no difference in version number.

I use XP, and it works fine its just a weird problem.

- Updated to a new version.
- Activated It
- Later deactivated it
- Activated Frontierspace/4.82 or whatever other mod i feel like playing
- deactivated it
-Tried to activate 4.85 again, fail. Error on FLMM. I delete 4.85, DL and install 4.85-Beta 4, update, then it works again... Its incredibly annoying, because i use 4.82 often.

I have Discovery Freelancer installed with DSUpdate working perfectly on two pc's using
Windows XP SP3 32bit & Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit respectively.

I also installed it with no problems on my test pc running Windows 7 RC1 Build 7100 64bit :D

I use Windows XP. The last two times the updater worked only after I reinstalled FL. I had to re install each time.
