With the new 5.0 patch being released and a whole rework being done, I know there will be a lot that needs to be changed before this mod becomes a shining gem of what it once was many years ago.

I wanted to make this post to talk about the current state of "Bar Missions" and to help with the new changes that will be coming over the forseeable future, I like to run "Bar Missions" you know the missions you take when you want to go kill a group of ships or assassinate someone or destroy a dangerous bio weapon they might be carrying, or maybe blow up that nice new station they're constructing, anyway.

So far from what I've seen is that NPC ships drop way too much "Military Salvage", this becomes a massive pain when you want to tractor in the pods that are floating around in space or even different commodities that they may drop, the reason this is an issue is that sometimes they drop anywhere between 50-100 of this "Military Salvage" and it gets in the way of tractoring in better commodities they drop, Sometimes the better commodities or pods will get blown up to a stray mine or missile, hell there have been some instances where i have accidently shot a pod or another commoditie i wanted.

What can be done?
Reduce the amount of "Military Salvage" they drop, or make it drop less often.

Of course there is a lot of work to do before something like this should be focused on, as the general balance of the game needs to be reworked, but this is something that can be fixed later on down the line.

If there are any other issues people find annoying or think they might be worth looking at, please feel free to post them here as a response and lets help make discovery 5.0 a better experience for Vets and possible new comers.

Please don't see this as a thread to post hate on the comments people or myself may leave, we just want to see the state of the game improve for both PVP and PvE players.

I double on this. The thing is - MilSalvage seems to be the commodity for PoBs, as it's used in one of their recipes. But on the other hand - good luck finding PoB in acceptable range willing to buy Salvage from unlawfuls. So the best solution in my opinion - add a few sellpoints for each region, to cover the needs of most(if not all) factions. For example: Rogues, Junkers and Hackers can have one sellpoint on Rochester or Beaumont, while Xenos need to have their separate sell point. It will make MilSalvage not complete waste of money and will set a bar for PoB owner to adjust their prices, in order to compete with NPCs

I think it's intended, but yeah, the tractoring logic should be worked out to not prioritize the salvage

I've been enjoying the military salvage drops. I'm not a big PoB person but I plan to supply them eventually when the ball gets rolling, so for now I use it as RP cargo. I just tend to tractor the important stuff manually and then press B to pick up salvage if I have space.

What I do generally is once the fight is over I drop some 10-15 salvage and just manually collect the pods. If you select a floating commodity you can press Shift+B (default keybind) to tractor only the selected commodity. Though I can also see the annoyance it brings.

No, I mistunderstood what he meant and thought a new completely foreign mechanic was just revealed to me.

Could also just make it valuable enough that people might want to pick it up.
