The Kansas Prelude
19:00-21:00 UTC November 15th, 16th, 17th (+maybe more)
Siege/defense event: Navy/Lawful vs Technocracy/Unlawful
Orbit of Planet Topeka - around Quantum Outpost

Disclaimer: No special event rules or restrictions apply, all players must follow server rules.
Backstory:

It took over thirty years for Liberty to defeat the Hellfire Legion. Liberty's High Congress has passed the Organization Categorization Revision Act (O.C.R.A.) that greatly increased the budget of the Liberty Navy and gave free hand and nearly unlimited resources to strike foreign-aided terrorist organizations. This was little more than a thinly veiled excuse to launch a full-scale invasion of the Kansas and Vespucci systems against the Insurgency that were branded as a foreign-aided terrorist organization right after the O.C.R.A. passed.

Liberty Navy knew the cost of assaulting the deeply entrenched Insurgency, and it paid the price in the form of the entire Delaware Battlegroup. Satisfied with their victory, they departed the systems without keeping a garrison.

Power vacuums have a tendency to be filled, however, and this hasty withdrawal has inevitably led to many groups attempting to claim the abandoned systems as their own. Researchers have begun to build installations to unravel the mysteries of Kansas, the Gaians have been rumoured to keep their presence in anticipation of other local powers attempting to seize the now vacant systems, and most recently the Technocracy has spread its wings and has been attempting to claim the Kansas system as their own, building outposts, threatening local bases and even launching open assaults on Liberty House Space.

As this massive power struggle looms over the horizon, an insignificant independent outpost, the Quantum, in the orbit of planet Topeka now serves as a backdrop for a conflict to come, where the powers of the adjacent systems test each others' resolves. For the Navy, it is important that the systems remain vacant - having a hostile power like the Technocracy take control and replace the Insurgency would be an unmitigated disaster in public relations and the trust of the politicians following the immense budget expended on the Navy following the O.C.R.A.. Various bounty Hunters and Mercenaries might come from the quick buck. For the Technocracy, this is a unique opportunity. Kansas holds many hidden secrets, and taking control of the system would be a massive forward step for them not only as a regional power but in terms of access to Alien technology rumoured to be present deep in the nebulae of the system. For Gaians, it is clear - they want to keep the powers in check, protecting what's left of the pristine areas. The Liberty Rogues will no doubt want to make their presence known. Many remember the fate of the Fortaleza Base, and might take this opportunity to side with the Technocracy against the Navy. Or they might seize the opportunity for themselves, and attempt to take control on their own. Nobody knows who else might show up, but everyone does know that what happens at Quantum Outpost will set the pace for years to come for these independent systems.

WHEN: 19:00 UTC-21:00 UTC, 15,16,17th November and the following days as long as Quantum Outpost hangs on.
WHO: Liberty Forces and Allies against Technocracy and Allies, any ID with Zoi can join the fight, standard rules apply. Only factions who declared a siege can attack Player Owned Bases, however. The goal of this event is the fights, the base siege/defense is just a backdrop.
WHERE: Kansas system, around planet Topeka
WHERE: Liberty has been starved for fights - let's see if the new siege system can work like free events!
SIGNUPS: Not necessary, standard respawn timer applies. Suggested gathering points:
Technocracy and Allies: Beaumont Base, Kansas

Navy and Allies: Planet Erie
Suggested RV/Fight areas:

Just as a note to the community, none of this is consented by our group. Especially not the part where you are projecting your own RP onto the Technocracy's point of view (that is not our perspective about this. )

We do not endorse this, and do not see our presence as approval.

Hello, we will more than welcome Auxo Point of view as part of the write-up! Send us a PM and it will be included in the OP!

@The First Armada - It's typically expected of you to obtain some form of consensus from the other factions you seek to involve in your event. Poor form to just do it off the cuff and bamboozle people with your self importance.

Yes this seems to be very poor form. Honestly feels like a way to possibly use event rules to one's advantage for a base siege.

I really don't think you should be trying to engage Liberty lawful forces, who really have no reason to defend some unaffiliated POB outside of their jurisdiction, in an "event" that just so happens to occur in the siege window of an active siege declaration.

This is just a very poor defense attempt of said POB masquerading as a roleplay event.

No rules are changed at all - this is a mere way to bring activity and test the new siege system, we will make it more clear in the OP - anyone can join either side - naturally we expect more unlawful to appear too!

We are just trying to make the base fights more active - people should and will join the sieging side for sure. Let's have a fantastic time, focus on fights, see what happens with the new sieging system! Don't like lawfuls? Come shoot them, we hope you do! The new sieging system is very suggestive of doing things like this and spurring regional fights, let's keep an open mind and give it a try with some RP background and inviting players who otherwise would miss it!

Bringing Gaians and shooting everyone would be pretty funny
