Rest assured, I will take your side against the Libertonians regardless of what occurred. But I will NOT go before the ministers with only the word of the Libertonians themselves to argue our case.

Admiral:

This goes back quite a bit, at least if we're talking in the events of my time as Direktor of the BDM.

The LSF and BDM have always been at odds, long before we were at war and still there after. The Libretonians are experts in surveillance and reconnaissance, we have been the leaders in the arms race, however.

This along with a plethora of other reasons, indicates why they would go so far as to openly target us in Rheinland space.

The discovery of the Earhart system by the Kusari & Liberty fleets has brought our houses at odds much more openly. This all began when the 1st fleet openly attacked our expeditionary forces in Earhart. We have been collecting resources from Earhart with Daumann's logistical assets to fuel our great weapons development program. This allows us to have an edge over the other houses should the need arise.

No word was spoken of these events since most parties prefer to keep the nature of things in Earhart confidential. The fewer eyes on it, the better.

Now, something to note about transiting the Earhart system is that while a Jump Drive device will allow you access in, it will not allow you access out. There are fixed exit locations in the system that rotate periodically, we have no way of knowing which exits will be where, or when. For this reason, expeditions leaving Earhart will often be left in places that put them at risk, say for instance: Liberty space.

This is precisely what happened and is likely the excuse these LSF operatives used to openly attack us in Hamburg. Several of my agents were caught upon exit in Liberty space by the 1st fleet. Interestingly enough according to the evidence provided not a single shot was fired, and it was quite close to the border. This begs the question of if the Libretonians were simply more or less looking for a reason to incite hostilities.

My forces have never provoked conflict unless absolutely necessary. I served in the Military, but am not a warmongering Direktor with an agenda to stubbornly put us at odds. I will, however, retaliate with the full arsenal I have created if you deem it necessary.

This is all the evidence I can provide at this time, Admiral. If need be, I will accompany you to the Ministry of Defense and say my part.

There is another great matter to discuss, involving Thuringia. When you have a moment, I would like to speak with you further.

Frau Viper,
this puts some of my concerns to rest. Clearly, the unfortunate position of the Earhart exits force Rheinland's hand if we want to explore these systems for their resources, which I wholeheartedly approve. The Foreign Affairs people will request that the Libertonians provide ALL evidence of BDM's alleged wrongdoing. If there is indeed piracy involved inside Liberty space, I'm afraid my hands will be publicly tied. Therefore, if you have any additional interactions with Libertonians you are holding back, now is the time to share them, so that we may plan to preempt any concerns.

Regardless of the full situation, these Libertonian buckaroos have taken upon themselves to mete out sanctions which must be reserved for the diplomatic corps. If the Libertonians don't care to abide by our Peace Treaty, I would know about it sooner rather than later. I will be making a number of demands to Foreign Affairs, and I believe your presence will strengthen my arguments about the matter. I will also have suggestions for the Defense Ministry regarding joint exercises between all our sister forces in Hudson and Bering. We will be joined by Vizeadmiral Kunrad and Leutnant Beist, both of whom I believe you already know, and I plan to invite Direktorin Wolf to represent the Polizei.

Regarding Thuringia, my ears are always open. If you need to say something off the record, you know where to find me. As you may be aware, my health and security concerns do not permit me to travel outside of major fleet maneuvers, which I hope will not be necessary for our conversation. Otherwise, collate a report and send it over, and I will be able to assist with any problems you have encountered to the best of my ability.

I will interview each of the Agents found in Texas, but there's been no indication of piracy to my knowledge - at least not in Liberty space. I imagine the Libretonians will collectively load the evidence against us to paint them as the protagonists. As they've done in the past for just about every endeavor they've been on - secret or not.

This is all the evidence I have at this time though, I am not withholding information when the prospect of armed conflict is around the corner. A war -while possibly inevitable- would strain our operations even greater than they already are.

I will show face if that bolsters our position with the Ministry of Defense. In regards to Thuringia, this is something that you will need to witness in person for me to make my case. When you have the time accommodations will be made available to you on Planet Weimar, I think you'll take full interest in what I'm going to show you.

Admiral:

I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. This news is troubling, based on historical interactions I can narrow down what "Wilde" likely is, but I won't jump the gun just yet.

[BDM]-Freya is NOT a Buro agent and should not be interpreted on behalf of the Buro.

We need to meet relatively soon, we are on the cusp of finalizing our plans to neutralize Valhalla once and for all. All these new parties and anomalies appearing are likely snooping around for our work. Perhaps the Emperor's visit will give them something to fix their eyes on, temporarily.

On a final note, a new group within the MND has surfaced that refers to themselves as "Division 7" I have no recollection of this group in the years I have served Rheinland and its people. Of all times, it has decided to surface now along with all the other clout that creates more and more complications. Exercise caution around them until I can narrow down who they really are and their intentions. Do NOT give them the impression we suspect anything is wrong with their intentions for now, the moment we put them on the defensive it will be much more difficult for me to unveil who they are.
