From: Matthew J. Burns To: Commanding Officer of the <|>Sotenbori Subject: Armed Intervention
Greetings.
Your vessel's assistance in New London was surprising, but not unwelcome. It could not have been easy to commit such a ship to battle against the Crown's Armed Forces, and I hope you were able to withdraw safely.
But allow me to introduce myself. I am Minister Burns, of the Republican Provisional Assembly. The Assembly is the voice of the Mollys, and has long been looking for an intermediary party as we considered expanding gold exports to Kusari markets. The demand by Kusari megacorporations, coupled with the... recent limitations imposed on BMM exports should inform you of the potential profit for all involved.
Please accept this token of the Assembly's appreciation if your vessel requires repairs - and if not, then your significant other will have a pick of fine jewelry.
We thank you for your considerate message. The Sotenbori and its crew safely departed the scene of the battle after we've successfully drawn the attention of no less than three Bretonian warships at once. They were giving us chase for a considerable distance, we can only hope our efforts enabled some of your people or the Gaians to slip away into safety too. The monetary gesture was unnecessary, however I will ensure the money is spent properly.
Switching to the business inquiry. Our mutual dislike for the Bretonian Crown truly makes it a tempting concept to pursue relations, including to install ourselves as intermediary for the Gold business. Whilst the Hogosha Alliance shifted away from the still quite profitable trade related businesses operated by the Hogosha as a whole and towards a political and paramilitarily oriented Alliance, we are in the position to negotiate and arrange relevant deals with.. interested parties.
From: Matthew J. Burns To: Ryuu Majima Subject: Business Inquiry
Greetings, Mr. Majima.
That is excellent news. Although "dislike" is a mild word to use for my kin's opinion of the Crown and especially the Crown-owned corporations, it is good to know that you share the sentiment. There have been deals made on less fertile ground, if entering this one gives you pause.
As you are likely aware, Dublin is under an embargo by Bretonian law. Those not wishing or able to purchase Dublin's primary export at an exorbitant price from BMM must resort to extralegal means. You have shown that you are not beyond such, which puts you in a unique position. You may decide who in Kusari stands to benefit from our gold supply the most and reap a cut of the profits, while in return, we wish to gain access to goods produced in Kusari, which you stand to profit from also.
We are prepared to offload gold to ships acting on your behalf, and any of your pilots willing to enter Dublin for the purpose of trade will have RPA's protection, especially when it comes to bypassing the blockade. We are also interested in making contacts within the Kusari corporations, if you would be willing to make the necessary introductions.
